According to the most recent information available through the Insurance Bureau of Canada, here are this year's (2006) 10 most stolen vehicles in Canada based on theft claims submitted to insurers:

1. 2000 Honda Civic SiR 2-door
2. 1999 Honda Civic SiR 2-door
3. 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX/WRX STi 4-door AWD
4. 1999 Acura Integra 2-door
5. 1994 Honda Civic Si 2-door Hatchback
6. 1998 Acura Integra 2-door
7. 1993 Dodge Shadow Convertible
8. 1996 Honda Civic Si 2-door Hatchback
9. 2000 Audi TT Quattro 2-door Coupe
10. 1996 Chev/GMC Blazer/Jimmy S Series 2-door 4WD

Glad to see Honda takes 6 out of 10 spots.

w00tsauce, 1996 Acura Integra is no longer on there. although i don't understand why they have the 2000 + 1999 SiR and the 1999 and 1998 integra on there. should just group them together as it's all the same ****

because its not about the model or make.
its about which model or make has the most stolen in each production year.

I found it quite amusing, in the article in the toronto star about the most stolen vehicles in canada, the writer said nothing about the REAL reason it's the number one stolen car: because of it's drive train. The B16A2 engine and the SiR tranny are one of the most popular swap motor and trannys, and the 99/00 SiR is the only car honda put that motor/tranny in for production in Canada. Along with some other choice parts off the car, this is what really makes it the #1 stolen car. Not because it doesn't have an imobilizer(sp?) as the writer said.
