OK my computer is messed up.

With IE

When I try to access gmail. The Home page loads up. Where you go to signin the box has 'action cancelled'

With Netscape 7.2

The home page loads. Where you sign in I just get a grey box with gmail sign in.


In both programs the page loads up normal, but just the sign in seems to be disabled.

I deleted my anti-virus PC - Cillin 2002 which had a built firewall. I checked to see if XP firewall was on. NOPE.

I deleted my cookies, temp, etc.,


Any idea on what could be wrong?

asus a7v600
512 DDR
80 & 20 GB hdd
Asus 9600se
56k on Bell dialup
OS: XP Home

Try Mozilla. I have heard of gmail problems with IE.

yeah ditch those crap browsers and get hooked up with mozilla firefox and while your at it switch to thunderbird for your computer mail, instead of outlook, thats what i did and its been perfect

ok tried Mozilla Firefox.. same problem. grrr

I think I'm going to fdisk/format my c: and start over. Maybe this time with XP PRO instead of home.

i'm running mozilla as i said and xp home, and gmail works perfectly for me, i would say you definatly need to format your hard drive, cause there's something else wrong other than just browsers

Yeah I think there's somethine else going on. Seems like there's a firewall running on my system. werid

I like the look of Netscape 7.2 and Mozilla FireFox over IE.

I'll check out thunderbird when I get my DSL (hopefully tomorrow)

I don't have a firewall installed. I checked to see if the XP one was on. Nope.

I'm going to see about fdisk & format c: drive soon because there's something wrong with my net. I'm also having some issues with MSN (audio doesn't connect) and netmeeting (can't connect to my wife system)

Unless Bell 56k is blocking ports on it's end?

When I fine tune my system with an XP Pro install. I'm going to be using my linksys router for firewall protection.

Yeah it's works. Format & Fresh install of WinXP Pro fixed whatever problem there was.
