In my local newspaper - Scrape by the Lake.
So I read this today! It was in the Niagara This Week news paper!!
Numerous thefts occur during car show
Sep 1, 2006
LINCOLN -- While cars were "hopping" during the Scrape by the Lake car show August 20, thieves were having a heyday at Charles Daley Park.
Several thefts from vehicles, as well as the theft of a pickup truck, occurred at the Lincoln park during the afternoon of the car show.
Sometime between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. a GMC Sierra pickup truck, valued at about $10,000, was stolen from the park.
A number of thefts from vehicles were reported to have occurred between 2 and 5 p.m., say police.
One visitor had a laptop computer, cellular phone and digital camera stolen from the trunk of the vehicle.
Another visitor had the lock on his passenger side door forced open, possibly "jimmying" it open with some type of tool. The owner's purse, which included personal items such as identification, family photographs and a cellular phone, was stolen.
Another vehicle had its rear passenger window smashed, say police. Once inside, the thieves removed a purse from the vehicle. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at about $400.
Another vehicle had its front passenger window smashed. Once inside thieves stole a wallet containing identification, along with a GPS navigation system, valued at about $500.
Police are actively investigating the incidents and are appealing to anyone who may have seen something that afternoon to contact them.
Police also remind drivers to lock their doors and to remove any valuables from the vehicle.

maybe i'm exhausted from work and its a bit late..
but are the people who is attending the show had their cars stolen or the cars being displayed at the show being stolen?
and its during the midday sun, how is it possible for the cars to be stolen when tons of people are attending the car show and checking out the rides?
