My wonderful night ripping appart the drivetrain...

Ripped the axles appart, front suspension on the floor... compare old axles with new ones... the drivers axles arent the same. Wonderful, considering I drove to TO (lawrence ave.) to do this at my buddy's place. The old axle's boots were both torn, and i could literally pop the bearings out. I zip tied it together and thank god it got me home.

Gonna bitch tomorrow after work at the parts guy that didnt give me 94+ teg non-abs axles.

AWRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGG

Soo frustrating... makes me wanna sell this POS and buy a godamn K-car.

(I'll upload the pix of the axles and the mess tomorrow)

Oh i know... stupid parts!
I might have to drop it off at Boost and just let them deal with it and suck up the 1.5-2 hours labor.... I've got no time now to work on it anymore.

(Im gonna murder the parts guy when I see him at lunch..... )

I got the wrong shock mounts for my Saturn from god damn PartSource. So I had the front susp out and the springs off and everything, cuz they ASSURED me this was the correct part, despite my protest on first inspection. FAAAAACK!! So I threw it back together and bought NAPA parts instead. I used to buy only dealer parts on this car, but since my brother will be driving it from now on, and I know he'll kill it in a couple of years, there is no sense in me putting in more money than I have to. Sux putting money into other ppls cars Luckily I don't use a spring compressor, I can just squeeze the spring enough to get the nut off, so I save hella time.

That's not bad... I hate spring compressors, if I can i'll just push down on the springs then tighten the top nut. With the springs on my civic I was able to do that without any issues. And shooting the oem springs off the shocks is too much fun!

What pissed me off the most was that I could have been stuck on lawrence ave when I live over an hour away. The parts manager is my friend's dad, and I bought this axle last month, they better ****ing accept it as a return or else!

yeah, I never leave my house to do work... in 9 years of working on cars, nothing good ever came out of working outside the home, not even air tools. if I NEED air tools, like for axle nuts, I'll have them loosened at a shop, then carefully drive back and finish the job at home.

See the difference with the stupid axle hubs... and the one i got didnt have that bushing on the shaft. We thought of swapping the hubs then decided against it. It was way too greesy and too late to be doing that.

Ohh the joys of hybrid POS cars.

hey torrey....how come you separate the tie rod when replacing the axel. I just did mine yesterday and never touched the tie rod. I've heard good and bad things about Boost. My buddies black CRX has been there for like 2-3 months now gettin some upgrades. Another buddy of mine got a b16 in his eg coupe and it took them like 3 weeks. Thanks for the heads up about parkdale auto.
If you ever need help with your car i am in hamilton too....i'd be glad to help you out.

Yea i heard good and bad things too about boost my buddy had his rx7 there for like 5 months and they only wired up a few things im not sure why it wasnt done other than tokyo auto giving him bad rotarys so now its outta there and hes gonna just rebuild and wire up his stand alone himself. They also "borrowed" his boost controller from him.

Also I was with my buddy one time in his teg and some guys from boost were laughing at his car cuz it wasnt as good as theres....****** I tell ya.

Yeah I didnt go down there in my car... just passed by and I think I talked to the guy in charge. Seemed kinda micky mouse to me, but I felt reassured when he noticed my tranny is from a B16a2... an axle takes an hour aside, so I cant see them doing that bad a job.

Monkey work... ya know?
