So land claims and negotiations arent working very great for them huh..

so I guess they have to resort to this?

Someone should point that to native leaders that post secondary education is free for them and they don't have to pay a lot of taxes like everyone else once he's done his rounds huffing burning plastic coke bottles into his lungs.

I blame poverty on the stupidity of the community. If immigrants can come here with nothing and become succesfful, so can someone with nothing but advantages over the immigrant.

I think the natives should be rounded up and shipped off to mexico. they will fit in quite well over there.

 

hey we already stole 90% of their land, amongst other atrocities why not just take the rest and give them the boot eh.

 

what happened 200+ years ago does not justify the actions of someone who was born in this generation.

 

You guys haven't seen natives unless you come to North Bay.. I go to school with a lot of natives in North Bay, not only do they don't have to pay for school, they get an monthly allowance.

 

the negative impact of how they were and still are treated, leads to frustration and desperation. You cant just write it off as just something that happened 200+ years ago. There is alot of distrust for the system there, and rightfully so, you trying trusting a country that has ****ed over generations of your people over and over again.

I am in no way shape or form condoning the sabotage, but I can certainly understand their frustration.

How did 'we' steal anything? I'm first generation Canadian. The only atrocity is what 'our' government lets them get away with and doesn't put them in their place when they act up on 'our' land.

people who make nothing of themselves are useless. go to a native reserve and check it out. none of them plan on become nuclear physicists.

still it was 200 years ago... hell black people got treated worse most recently and they've come further than that... oh wait that's cuz all they got was equality not a free ride... the problem lies with the fact that they get so many advantages over the rest of society - free school, no taxes, monthly allowances etc etc etc they don't know what else to do with themselves...

if they had to work 40-60 hours a week just to survive like many lower to lower middle class families have to - they'd have less time to worry about derailing trains etc..

i'm with bruce on this one - they have so many advantages but they always want more...

i find no problem writing it off just as i write off the US having black slaves. The fact is black people sold other black people as slaves, and nobody in the states is still a 'slave' in that sense.

in north america you can always better yourself while having nothing. whether you succeed or amount to garbage is up to you and no one else.

alot of free ****? maybe....but technically this all belongs to them and we are the ones that took it away...so we are to charge them for something they owned? lol

anyway this argument is really going nowhere as we will each have our own views on the topic

 

The only reason they are doing this is because they are funded very well. I think its something like 2 billion per annum that the government is spending on these people. This welfare is making them lazy because they don't see the point of working.

The only solution is to cut of ALL their funding. EVERYTHING. Let them work for their own money.

What these natives dont understand is that their ancestors had land, but no government subsidies. So life isn't as pretty as they think.

How can natives get all this free stuff (education,land,taxes ect)

and some of yall still think they deserve more ... do they even use the perks already given to them ?

PS. ive dealt with natives in the past on my 2 day drive up to Thunder Bay last year .. so yes im speakin from some experience ..

yeah but welcome to the world... go back more than 200 years how do you think other countries were formed?? people just had nice discussions... maybe followed by a game of rock paper scissors... the winner got to keep the land and create the gov't???

if we give them the land they want back we should then cut their funding... then what are they gonna do? they won't have money to even buy their glue and coke bottles... ( i know i'm generalizing but you get my drift ) they live nicely thanks to all the money we give them...
