need advice on getting a cellphone

b4 I start, I know this shouldnt be in the Want to buy section and that is why I am posting here.

ok so herez the deal, Ive been with rogers for about 2 years, and they said I Can switch to a new phone...Ive got about a 200 dollar budget...
with that budget Rogers can hook me up with a Razr or the LG 500.

I want a phone that has bluetooth so I can use a B/T headset with it...

can someone tell me if there is any reason for me not to buy the phone from rogers???

like will I be able to find a nice b/t capable camera cellphone in 200??
hmm I highly doubt it...but any of u working at rogers or other phone stores hook me up some how?

Please leme know. Im in no rush to get a cell right now, plan on waiting till the summer but I def wont be increasing my budget cuz I dont think investiong more then 200 into a cellphone is practical.

thanks for the help in advance.

Get the Razr if those are your two choices, LG phones are completely garbage. Yes stay with Rogers, they provide the 850 MHz Frequency and it is the strongest. You can always go to Pacific mall and get a phone that we dont have in N America.

actually...the T720 was great...I wasnt really into pics and music n ****...

but I think its time now to upgrade...I just dont think that its worth spending more then 200 by going out side of rogers to buy a phone...and thats why I wana know if its possible to get one around 2 bills with all the features...
if not then I'll just pick up the razr or LG500...prob the razr

Im using the Razr its a solid phone, I love the size of it and how its a slim phone. The T720 gets crap reception because it can not receive the 850 MHz frequency, so expect better reception.

I'm not a huge fan of motorola, I find the UI kind of crummy, and I have had reliably issues with them.

Sony Ericson on the other hand, I love thier phones, they are loaded with features (my 3 year old SE t616 had bluetooth, infered, camera, java stuff, outlook syncronization and was incredibly small), and they are very well build (never had a problem with mine)....

I've only had LG phones since 2001. Can't complain at all and I will stick with them until I experience otherwise. Great phones. Currently running a LG535.

I would suggest picking up the W600i. Im have been using it since it was released on rogers, solid little phone, with solid RF and crazy features.

for 200buck phones you're kinda limiited without recommiting to a contract, which it looks like you are willing to do so you have a few options w600, nokia 6682 (very nice phone) ur just gonna have to throw a next 50bucks for that one which is pretty worth it if u ask me, razr (in one of the 4 or 5 colours now), rokr (pretty good phone for 50bucks).

if you wanna wait till summer you will be able to pick up a SLVR L7 for most likely around your budget price and is like the razr but in a candy bar style. bluetooth is almost standard on phones now.

the only reason for you to buy your phone from rogers is cuz u have a low budget look at the cost of a phone that isnt offered in contract average price is gonna be around 500bucks but I'm sure u can pick up a like new but used phone for a decent price aswell.

I've had a crap load of phones this year alone and none were purchased from rogers but thats cuz I have a problem and I cant keep a phone for too long without being bored of it...right now i have a v3i Razr and I like, it its like normal razr but next level we'll see how long i have this

hth

I can tell you a reason not to use rogers, but im not sure if its relevant for you. I've been with Bell for years and was thinking of switching. But after moving to the west coast i found out about bell's long distance plan. For $5 a month you get unlimited north american long distance, from 8pm friday to 6am monday.

there is a rogers $5 add on for 1000min long distance, not quite unlim but thats a whole lotta minutes, not to mention rogers LD rate is 10cent/min opposed to bell's 25cents/min

and to add to the fact, if you went with bell, you would have to deal with Bell support, which is reason enough to use rogers
