Need Diet!

I need to make myself a diet for working out.
Right now I'm looking to tone a bit (lose 20-30lbs) and get my lean wright down.
I work out 6 days a week currently.
If someone can give me help in setting up a diet for both toning and also gaining more muscle once I'm toned that'd be great.

How much do ou weigh now? Do you know your current body fat %? BTW tonning and gaining muscle at the same time is a very had process. You really have to know your body and how it reacts to work outs and diets. This means counting calories which gets much easier after a while. A lot of people (like me) eat and work out like crazy then lean out for the summer. I know exactly what i need to eat (# of calories and when to consume them) to gain or lose the pounds... but it is very different for everyone. I once lost 12 pounds in two weeks to look good for a vacation! Gotta love Cancun.

I've cut all fast foods out of my diet long ago. Don't drink much caffine either though it's hard to quit.

I'm just looking to tone right now. My body fat % not sure but I weigh about 250-260 right now.

Pretty much low carbs, high protein, no sweets, lots of water. Chicken, turkey and fish. No Rice pasta or potatos. Salads are good, or Celery, tomatos, stuff like that. Make sure you snack between meals, don't wait until you are hungry, this will change your body's motabalism and your body fat should shrink as it starves for the carbs and sugar. They have some snack bars at Wal Mart you can eat that are diet bars and taste pretty good for snacking. Coffee is fine as long as you don't use sugar. If you can get use to sweetner, that will work.

This is what I have done and started again (fell off the wagon! LOL). But it worked well for me, this is without working out. This time around I will be.

Oh yeah, gotta stop on the beer too

That would be a good place to start.

Eat less and exercise more...and not necessarily lifting weights. Start jogging for example.

The weight watchers points system worked for someone that I know....its a good system.

20-30 lbs is not "toning up" ... toning up is like 5-10 lbs

Welll where do we start............
1. I would suggest reducing the gym to 5 days a week at the most .....you body does need rest.....

2. seperate your meals instead of 2-3 big meals have 4-7 smaller ones through out the day

3. Reduce you carb intake as the day goes on ......as the day progresses increase protein intake to take care of loss of carbs..

4. treat yourself at least once a week ......all or nothing diets are hard to stay on . you have to try anfd change slowly or else you will not learn to eat properly after you have gotten to your ideal weight.

5. remember it is easier to lose weight than it is to sustain the weight you reach after the diet.......take it slowly learn as you go and make it part of your day instead of penciled in to your day ....

Hope that helps

BOND007 has the right idea. Cardio is very important, and i don't mean having a walk on a treadmill. You should be dripping sweat. Fat burns good at higher temps and higher heartrates. The caffine is actually good for raiseng heatrates and temp. Small meals ****** out is a great way to keep youself full and to ensure adiquate nutrition throughout the day. Water is very improtant too. Make sure your pee is always colorless and clear. Have a glass of water with every meal and keep a botle around at all times. Like BOND said treat yourself once a week. Take it as a reward for your weeks hard work (but don't go nuts!). I know it seems like a lot of info to take in consideration but after a while it just becomes a normal part of your day. You will get used to all of this and you'll eventually realize that hunger is all in your head and usually missunderstood for thirst.

Last july I weighed about 210lbs and I'm 5'11.

I used to work out 3-4 times a week for 3 years but stopped 2 years ago. I play soccer year round about twice a week which is great for my cardio exercise.

Since last July all I've done was stop eating after dinner completely, sure I may do it once a week but for the most part I totally cut it out.

Now, I weigh 181lbs and lost almost all that extra weight in my stomach. As soon as exams are over with I'll be going to the GYM 2-3 times a week and tone up.

You'd be surprised what garbage you eat daily, once you cut that out you'll see results.

just eat balanced meals...like chicken vegie's and abit of rice...but in small portions...you dont' have to have these BS all protien diets...

i probably have one of the worse diets of anyone on here, and i'm definately inactive aside from sexual encounters yet i dont get fat... whats the deal??
