I don't wanna sound like a jerk but if he wanted to talk to you it wouldn't have been hard for him to say to himslelf "Why the **** does my phone keep vibrating, oh its Tess" and go to the patio or whatever and call you back. He was prolly more annoyed then interested in you calling him, and afterwards told you some bullsh!t story so he wouldn't have to hear about it again.
