if i'm right it has something to do with the current. blue line is the current, black curve is the EMF (Electro Motoric Force), the line between the 2 curves is Time and not orginal sound, the first image displays the distortion without capacitor and the 2nd image is with capacitor, the capacitor flattens out the current so there will be much less distortion in your circuit, effecting your subwoofers and stuff. Has anyone ever seen a car bouncing on the road because of the vabrations coming from the subs, and meanwhile the headlights fading out every time there is a beat? well, you can work that away with a capacitor. Now, don't kill me if i'm wrong, the theoretic part never interested me allot when i went to school, only the very basics i needed to know to build ICE.
