how come all cars for sale all have all highway kilometers?... just a random thought..

thats pretty high milage... but if all maintenance was done, and timing belt and water pump were changed, all suspension components are healthy, then you can still get a few years out of it.

price seems ok, make sure the title is clean and look for signs of accidents just in case there was one that wasnt reported but fixed anyways. if you don't know what to check for, get a mechanic/body shop guy to have a look at it for you to see if all the seams line up and that it hasnt been repainted.

every car with high KM's is labelled as "all highway"...so get that BS out of your head. And SiR's come with B16, that means a really short geared tranny. So this guy is telling you (if it is true) that 80% or more of that cars life has been driven at over 4000+ rpm's

just a thought.

imo, high kms is not a problem....like ERTW and civicnation said.....as long as the engine is strong, the body is solid, accident free, go for it....

bring it to ur mechanic, and let him check everything for u before u make a deal....

run a vin search, that is the most important thing you can do when purchasing an si-r or any vehicle besides of course getting it checked my a mechanic.

Most si-r's have a bad history or are stolen, make sure all the vin's match and the title is clean.

Take whatever a seller tells you with a grain of salt, do a carfax to get some actualy history about it.

The price seems pretty good considering the high km.
Good thing the guy didnt just swap in a low km. sir cluster in there and try and bs the car's actual km. If the mechanic says that its fine then I think it would be a good buy.

That's a pretty cheap price.

Just do what everyone here said to do. Ie. Check carfax, check VINS, get YOUR tech to give it a good once over, etc.,

Most of the 99/00 SiR models I looked at were american Si imported to Canada. Not really a bad thing, but still a theft recovery/rebuild

Try a search on ClubSi. There are usually people that will do Carfax's for free. I got one for my car in a day. Have a mechanic thoroughly check it out. If the owner won't let you check it out, he's hiding something.

That price seems very cheap. My 98 Si has the same k's and is in mint condition and I'm selling it for that price. $7g's seems very cheap for an SIR.

I have to agree accross the board. High km isn't really a bad thing.....your car just cruises...unless he's punching it the whole time at an insane RPM. I know my car runs just over 2 grand at about 115km/h.
Also...getting a mechanic to check it out is a must as well as getting the cars history verified.

For future ref.....where can i run a VIN to check if it's stolen....and get a carfax?

Wouldn't it be different for a manual car?
