Nervousness before/during Job Interview

Good evening TCC community~
I am going for a number of job interviews in the following week or so with Microsoft, Siemens, CIBC, Toronto Hydro, and Toyota Canada, and the earliest one starts tomorrow.

I am feeling very nervous right now. Do you know of any personal trick, strategy, or technique to use in order to calm yourself down prior and during the interview? (eg. perhaps painting an image that you are smarter than the person interviewing you etc.)

Thank you very much for your attention!

Go to the gym before your interview. A good workout always puts me in a positive frame of mind.

Thanks Rick for the suggestion, but my 115 lbs body can't seem to handle too much gym, haha!

These are actually my co-op work terms interviews. I am particularly nervous because this is the first work term I will be attending to, and I would really love to get into some big companies to build up my portfolio.

relax it's only a job your trying to get...

seriously remember that ... your only trying to get a job where the employer tries to pay you the minimum to keep you coming back and your going to try to do the minimum amount of work so as not to be fired if you remember that you'll be fine

Dude just relax and do whatever you feel like.

But one thing you do before you leave your house is blow one load . It'll help you relax and take some stress out. lol

good luck

the most important thing you have to do is NOT BE SERIOUS the whole entire time try to crack a joke here and there

RESEARCH the company you're interviewing with. They get to research you via a resume, so research them via the net. Now both parties will know about each other and you will feel more comfortable. You'll also be able to ask questions about them and their recent conspiracies that you uncovered on the web (employers love that kind of stuff in an interview)

I dunno if this will help, but I have never had a problem with interviews. When people they "I don't care"... they haven't met me. I really don't care about almost anything.

My last interview (the place I am now) they asked me what my plans were after graduating... Regardless of what they were, I told them I wanted to join Csis just to throw out a weird comment.

I've argued with interviewers before too.

Just don't be overconfident.

"Do you have any weaknesses?"

"One. Kryptonite."

Do you still have gold spiky hair? First impression is important.

do research, ask their current employees about their job, find out EXACTLY what the job description is, so you can SELL yourself, let them know that YOU can fill that criteria....
if you think the interview is going well, try to ask them some questions (eg. about the future of the company...) to let them know ur truly interested in working for them.

I as well felt nervous during my Co-op work Term interviews. Best way to look at it is to be confident, smile a lot and you need to BS when they ask questions like "What made you want to work for us" Your school should have had a workshop for you to join for interviews. A good way to relieve the stress is to prepare for the kind of questions they are going to ask you. Most places ask the same type of questions. I had a whole list of them before, and it really helped a lot.

you should congratulate them on having you on board and making the right decision in advance should they select the best applicant and hire you.
