I'm pretty much a Timmies Dbl Dbl girl (sharona likes her sugar), and the aftertaste of sweetener takes some getting used to, I've found. But when you have to, you do it. Just adjustments I suppose, we're happy the situation is not severe, so things are going okay.

Yep, you get use to it. My wife tends to make unsweetened Koolaid and uses sweetner instead of sugar. I drink it as well I got use to it. I try to not use sugar in lots of things.

AS for the needles, they use pen like needles, not the old stuff anymore. The needle is so fine, you barely feel it. It looks like a big pen, you put the cartridge in and have these fine needles youp put on. When I get a chance, I will take a pic and show you. The one that Alex talks about is cool, but its a hard change for my wife as yo have to wear that 24/7. Believe it or not, it's a vanity thing and for her, its an issue. It's not easy by any means having Juvenile diabetes, so many things you cannot do and to manage your life around it.

It was even worse when she was pregnant. Both kids were delivered early because she was getting toxemia (think thats how you spell it). And they had to check the kids for diabetes as well.

Best wishes to your mom Sha, my mom dealt with it too, and she wasn't overweight either, but she still had to lose weight. All of that has to be watched, but can be controlled and with a healthy diet and exercise, she should be fine.

If anyone has questions, I am sure Shazza or I would be more than happy to answer.
