New Drug Deletes Bad Memories

It's "Yahoo news" so take it with a 50 kg bag of sodium chloride.

one of the yahoo headlines that showed up today

What do you think about a drug that induces amnesia?

It helps you forget the pain. Look-out alcohol and illicit drug use! Here is a new alternative!

Got some thoughts for the memory hole?

Do you have a really bad memory, or past heartache, that you would prefer to forget?

the article is incorrect. the drug they speak of doesn't make you forget anything entirely.

i.e. A rape victim is scared to be alone in her house, walk down the street and etc. After taking the drug she will still remember what happened to her but the emotion attached to that would be almost nothing it would be as if she was watching it on television and letting her be attached to the memory. It doesn't really help for things such as deaths and etc.

and No I would not take the drug because all my memorys and heartache's make me who I am.

you are correct, it doesn't make you forget the event, it just numbs the emotions associated with it...

good point, your memories help create who you identify as a person.

what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...forgetting bad memories sounds like a weakening of the ability to deal with problems...

these drugs seem more dangerous than marijuana or cocaine to me.

The drug has been tested on many victims so far and it has worked amazingly for them.
