New to ebay selling, questions
Hey, i realize ill have more lucky selling things on ebay rather then privately and locally, so anyways, how do i go about with the shipping process, like if i want to sell a product do i contact the post office and get a shipping quote or something like can someone explain the entire process of shipping a product from my house to lets say somebody in the states for example?

i have always just charged a flat rate for shipping, and it has always worked for me, then you go to the post office the throw some stamps on it...make sure that you insure it, just in case, its only a dollar for every 100 dollars, so its worth it.
tehn it goes into the mail and a few days to a week later it arrives safely at the custy's door

Depends on how and what you want to ship. If you use Fedex or something like that, you can call, they will pick up and give you a quote. As for the post office, you will need to go there and they weight it and depending on where you are sending it, will determine the price. I have only used the post office and I find that it works well. You also have a choice of how many days you want it to arrive as well. This is for the States and Canada. I have shipped to both.

ok like for example i have my pretty much full turbo kit i would be selling, lets say it weighs in at i dont know 40 lbs, someone asks me a question how much to ship to ohio for example, so i throw everything int oa box go down to the post office and get them to weight it blah blah, i dunno seems impractical, and if i charge a flat rate what if im charging too much...or too little, and what about shipping supplies, where can i get big boxes, bubble wrap, that sort of things

well for something like engine parts it would be best to get it weighed out so you know what to charge.
i always charge a flat rate which is usually higher so i can make a bit more money in the US/CAN conversion...why not, if they didn't like it, they don't have to bid
but i've never shipped engine parts so don't go by me.
and its amazing what can be found on google and it only took 0.14 seconds

I usually get my own boxes and bubble supply either from stuff I have left over or from someone I know. You can buy that stuff pretty much, or if you go with fedex, I believe they will provide you with the supplies. Don't know if there is cost attached to that, someone correct me if I am wrong.
Trust me, I know there are people that over charge for shipping. So I wouldn't worry about that. You can either state a flat rate or state you will give the shipping info once the person has won. If they have questions, they will ask and it is up to them to make sure they understand what you have put in your sale as far as shipping and costs.
