NFL: Toronto BILLS
#7
As a Bills fan... I hope they keep the Bills name.
Toronto would suck because city bylaws don't allow tail gaiting, and knowing toronto, tickets will be a bitch to get and the parking sucks around the rogers centre.

^^ Thats the main issue. NFL teams, as we know, are financied largly by massive TV contracts, etc. But if any city can have a shot in canada, its Toronto and Buffalo is a smaller US market...
Maybe if TED Rogers created a channel that would televise all Toronto BILLS games and required tv subscribers to pay 5-10 month, that may help...
Its a stretch, but in the event Toronto does get an NFL team, i'd definately watch/attend

i was reading somewhere that a good percentage of attendants at bills game were actually canadians...although as mentioned, doesnt the NFL have a billion dollar / year tv deal, so a team in Canada wouldnt be such a great idea for the league especially when you can relocate to another american city.

Would you pay 10 a month to watch the Toronto Bills on tv? [ if say, TED ROGERS created a BILLS channel where 90% of the games were televised exclusively there? ]
I would. I know enough people who pay $30 or something for Rogers' super sports pack just to watch all NBA games through league pass.

I hate to tell everyone that does'ent think it will happen, but its
going to happen
The owner of the Bills is like 90 or 89, and he has two daughters that wan't nothing to do with the team. No other relatives to leave the team to. Not to mention that Buuffalo is so unstable right now financially as a city, he does'ent want to die leaving the franchise in turmoil. He all ready expressed this.
Toronto market is primed for an NFL team, not to mention the fact that they can charge anything they want for tickets to make up for the Rogers Centre smaller capacity. You know all the corporate bull**** ticket guys. It will just end up like having night out at the ACC, soldout to whole bunch of suits!

Sabres owner Tom Golisano has already expressed his interest in keeping the Bills in Buffalo.
Now yes, Ralph Wilson said he'd sell the Bills to the Highest bidder when he passes away, but I think the NFL would prefer to keep the Bills in the states.

sure teddy can buy it...and keep it in buffalo and have a game or 2 a season in toronto...but I really dont see a NFL team full-time in toronto...billions in US marketing in Canada means what? NOTHING not to mention the skydome is a horrid venue for NFL, if u have been to any NFL dome you will understand that the skydome isnt set up right for NFL football or its fans and I would love to see downtown toronto go to sh*t on a sunday afternoon hahaha...logistically and financially its not a very feasible thing to have an nfl team here...just like the olympics always pass up toronto
