NIAGARA FALLS? Fallsview casino resort? Hilton?? DECISSIONS !!

hey guys, I really need some help here

as part of my gfs bday we are spending a night in niagara...she does not know about it..im planning it...but I messed up

I thought the hilton was the new resort with the casino that just opened up, so I booked a jacuuzi room, kingsize bed...with seperate sitting area for 199.99...very good rate since I booked early

but today,I found out im mistaken, the new place is the fallsview casino resort, they are totally booked, I may be able to get a room once someone cancells....but their rates are 259.99 for king size bed...thats it...nothing special in the room. the advantage to this is the fact the hotel/buffet retaurant/casino is all in the same place.

my question is this, people that have seen the two....what should I do? also...how long of a walk is it from the hilton to the new casino ? across the street? 20 minutes? I really need help here.

colthes notes

- hiton hotel- 199, king size bed, city view, jacuuzi, sitting area.
- fallsview casino resort- 259.99, king size bed...thats it...but fallsview room.

deciding factor is if the hilton is close to the casino, meaning 5 minute walknig distance....then Ill stay at hilton.

how do these places look? I want a really nice ritsy type of look.

I used to work in the Falls and pretty much every hotel is within walking distance to both Casinos. The weekends are always more expensive then the weekdays and I found that the really big hotels aren't really that much nicer then the smaller ones. In fact, the wife and I stayed at the Courtyard Marriot last week. It's right in the middle of both casinos and about a 1 minute walk from Clifton Hill. I paid $170 ish for a room with a king sized bed, large 2 person hot tub in the room, great buffet breakfast for 2 and 2 passes for one of the tour bus trips. The hotel has 2 pools, a small fitness centre and a big hot tub in the pool area. Check it out. I'd stay there again.

There is a really nice Italian restaurant near there called Casa D'oro for dinner, or if you want take-out, try a place called Zappi's for great pizza and wings.

Both hotels are excellent and are well overdue -- really spruce up the joint.

Hilton is across the street from the Fallsview...either are fine, for 100 bux less, I'd take the Hilton...

The new casino is superb!

All the large new hotels are by the Fallsview Casino, so you can't really go wrong with distance. I'd settle for the Hilton.

Yup the Hilton is right across the street. I look at it every day at work...from the Casino hahaha. I know a couple of the bell men there...Ron and Steve will take care of you heh. Though the Casino has an amazing hotel, the Hilton is really nice as well. Just hope your view isnt completely blocked by the Casino. Oh, and if you plan to win a little money while your there, go to the old Casino as well. The new one does not pay out....ssshhhh...I'm not suppose to tell hahaha.

Make sure to check out more than the casino and your hotel bed while your here...lots of stuff to do in the falls.

my main concern was this, I dont need a fallsview room, becuase we are 2 seconds away from the falls anyways, we can walk there....anf in the hotel room we are not going to stand at the window and look at it.

but how does the actual rooms look? I could not find a SINGLE picture of the rooms at the casino resort, I was able to find a virtual tour with a moving camera of the room I wanted, showed the bathroom with jacuuzi, the bed, the sitting area...everything.

on the website for the casino resort there is NOTHING. this drastically affected my decission...if anyone can point me in the right direction of where to find interior/room pics of the new hotel....let me know

thanks guys, appreciate the help.

and keep the tips comming

Enjoy the night Niagara is the type of place that is good for short weekend stay-over and yet, not too expensive but at the same time, you get this "tourist" feeling so you think you are on vacation.

Niagara rocks.

Well the Casino hotel is under the Hyatt brand...for now. It is a BEAUTIFUL hotel inside and out. Remember...its only 3 months old. If the high rollers at the Casino have nothing but good things to say about the rooms and facilities...you know its good...I know first hand because I deal with the big buck players daily, and they are PICKY.

But, yes the Hilton is beautiful as well. I have seen all the Niagara Fallsview hotels inside and out. I had to check them all out when I was helping organize a conference for the ontario ministry of tourism...and the Hilton was very nice.

WORD OF ADVICE!!!

Don't use the Hilton's valet. Park it yourself and walk....you will thank me in the long run....I know guys there that rip the **** out of people's cars. They will also take any loose change or candy....TRUST ME my friends that work there have told me tons of stories that you would not believe.

Other than that...new casino is right across the street and everything is within walking distance. Enjoy your stay!

Cheers.

How about Fallsview Marriot?
I was there twice, one time I have a Junior President Suite...

Truely amazing view and good location.
It is right next to Fallsview Casino Hotel.

I highly recommend it!

I be you can throw a rock out your Hilton window and hit the casino. Right across the street. I've stayed at that Hilton and was pleased with the room.

^^ thats BS, by the way. They had some cracked tiles because they did a rush job at the end. I saw the place being built...trust me, theres enough foundation there to support a world trade centre.
