Roto-Tiller Pin Goes Up Man's Nose, Into Brain
PENROSE, Colo. -- A 19-year-old Penrose man is back at work as a volunteer firefighter and training to be an emergency medical technician, a little more than two months after an accident that could have killed him.
Chris Clear was moving a roto-tiller April 22 when something snapped, and he felt what seemed like a rock hitting him in the face. Later, pain moved to the back of his neck, and Clear began to experience other, more serious symptoms.
A second trip to a hospital, and an X-ray, revealed that a pin from the roto-tiller had come loose, entered his nose and passed through his brain.
Clear was given a grim prognosis, but nine hours of surgery to remove the pin proved successful.
Today, Clear has lost some of his peripheral vision and he no longer eats sweets.

ok I'm not even close to being a know-it-all on things like this...but having done a quick 10 minutes of research there's nothing said about eating sugary foods/coke in any other articles regarding head trauma...the ONLY thing I can think of is that coke has caffeine in, and according to a number of articles:
"Psychiatrists are medical doctors who diagnose and prescribe medications and psychotherapy for posttraumatic head-injured patients suffering emotional problems like depression, anger, mood fluctuations, and mania."
I wouldn't want someone who has "mania" for example being juiced up on caffeine...
Just my 2 cents worth, kind of makes sense...have a great day everyone!

When I first saw the pic of the x-ray, I thought it was a straw he was drinking his coke with got wedged into his brain.
The title of this thread and last comment in article don't make any sense.

You guys totally missed the mark. I didn't mean Coke, the soft drink. Otherwise I'd uppercase the damn word. Does it make sense now?
98civ - thanks for the insightful search.
Sha - I just might..

LOL.
Okay, I'll give a play by play:
Injured Guy's Friend: Hey, wanna do some lines today after work? I got a few skanks coming over with blow.
Injured Guy: Naaa. The doctor says I have to keep my nose clear of any sort of residue until it heals because, you know, a ******* Roto-Tiller pin went up my ******* nose!
