Ny cops going down - bout time
He says the officers must stand trial, and they must stand together
Not only will New York Police officers who shot Sean Bell on the eve of his wedding stand trial, but they will tried together, a judge has ruled. Judge Arthur Cooperman denied a motion to dismiss the case against the three officers, who were indicted by a grand jury after firing 50 bullets at Bell and two friends as they left a Jamaica, Queens strip club on Nov. 25, 2006.
Cooperman also rejected the defendants’ attempts to have individual trials.
Bell’s killing sparked protests throughout New York, as activists called for jurisdictions to rein in police power, which many say has gotten out of control.
Should the officers be forced to stand trial together?

i would empty my clip into some moth******er who tried to run me and my friends too..
i love it how the "drunk driver" who gets killed by street racers goes from victim to villan, but this boy is a true victim just because it was cops and not street racers who killed him..

god forbid cops ever dared to say that 60% of a certain race is likely to be guilty of something when randomly pulled over..

maybe the original post did not state the topic clearly enough.
this was a drunk driver who got killed, you should be happy.
unless you have information that he was also a street racer.. in which case you may argue away about how an innocent man has died in a hail of bullets unleased by street-racing hating cop pigs.

he wasnt hit 50 times.. there were 50 shots fired alltogether by 5 different cops. most of them didnt hit anything
he was also allegedly soliciting prostitution..
oh, and did we forget the part that he was drunk, in a car, running people down? would it have been different if they were not cops, therefore unable to identify themselves, and he ended up running down a bunch of unarmed civillians?
lets use the quote that has been used many times on this site already: "he was dead the minute he got in that car drunk."

his friends were hit by intended bullets too, altogether 3 people were shot and hospitalized.
i dont know about you, but i somehow find it hard to imagine to be involved in a situation where cops are shooting at me.. just becuase i'm innocently walking down the street... however, if i'm not so innocently just walking down the street, but threatening their lives, then yes, i can see how i could be killed in a hail of bullets.

Well if that SOB was gunnig his car towards the officers, like ERTW said, then why the **** are the officers standing trial? It should be investigated to prove if the officers have reasonable cause to fire their sidearms. Just like here in Ontario when a civilian is injured or killed in the presence of police, they call the SIU.

no, it was not.. read up and educate yourself before you form an opinion, and by that i mean read up multiple sources with different biases.

i have a difficult time seeing a group of cops just shooting somoene randomly..
unless you call soliciting prostitution, getting kicked out, not wanting to leave, and trying to run down cops in a drunken rage a random event.. then yes, i am naive and you are right...
