that gives bush plenty of time for a ********* attack and the time to declare martial law.

I'm glad Obama won. Besides the US citizens officially saying they don't want Bush on crack or his war time president attitude, it shows that white people (that's all that exist in the states, white and black people) will vote for a black man.

I'm not just happy that the christian right wing capitalist swines have lost, i'm happy that the US is able to have a president that's not a rich white guy.

It's not like just in science fiction movies where the US president is black.

"I've been to the same church _ the same Christian church _ for almost 20 years," Obama said, stressing the word Christian and drawing cheers from the faithful in reply. "I was sworn in with my hand on the family Bible. Whenever I'm in the United States Senate, I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. So if you get some silly e-mail ... send it back to whoever sent it and tell them this is all crazy. Educate."

This means that even Catholic hospitals will either have to go agaist their morals and religious beliefs or close up shop. Disgusting.
what if they dont think the kid is a right CHOICE for them ? should they still breed it into some broke *** home ? that would be much better ? i understand catholics have thier beliefs but they shouldnt mould the decisions of those who think that abortion is a hard but still possible decision that is still an option ...

Did you even read my post? Obviously not. I clearly stated if he's pro-choice then that's his decision.

What my post is saying is that he is basically going to make abortion a fundamental right which means that *CATHOLIC DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS* will have no choice but to either go against their religion and perform the abortions, or, close up shop completely to avoid it.

Does that make sense now?

You are not getting my point. It already is significant.

The record breaking amount of people turning out to vote
History is made by having the first African American president.
It shows that anything is possible for any minority and gives them hope.

Those are just three that I have given you. It may not have changed things in a sense of the major issues as the war or the economic crisis, but it has made a difference in millions of Americans and people around the world for other reasons.

What he does in office remains to be seen, but for now, it is a mark in history that is very significant and stems from centuries of Black and White history in America.

history was made fine... but what does the future hold... what is this historic moment, an african american president..going to do for the future...it could even end up worse than bush no one can say , its just going to get worse...i think america is flushing itself down the drain faster than it can think and is too obsessed with "making history and "having cnn cut to kenya showing ppl gathered around a tv" "to focus on getting itself out of a big economic mess.

nothing new with a black man as a president.

they've given a black man an impossible job to clean up after the mess of a rich white guy, and they're barely going to pay him for it.

and when he can't clean up the mess, people will say "this is why we shouldn't have a black president?"
