apprantly he called Big John a moron..lol. That was clearly the right call, Chucks body was flat. When your not defending yourself they end the fight. I think Chuck didnt even realize what happend and prob. why he looked so confused lol.

IMO, they both have great fighters and I dont one is better than the other and the argument gets old. =D

Well Rampage did it, I wanted Chuck to knock his *** out but.....

Rampage Definitely tagged Chuck, & Chuck was dazed, but it seemed to be stopped quickly.

I hope Chuck can bouce back.

Ok, slightly off topic....... Brandon "the truth" Vera, WTF? he was supposed to get the title fight against Tim Silvia but Randy ended up with it??? I haven't heard anything about him since he KO'd Frank Mira. He's my fav sorta "unknow" dude.

It was a perfect stop to the fight.. as soon as chucks hands and feet when flat (Which means hes knocked out) the fight was stopped.

Brandon Vera only had 2 fights left on his contract with the UFC when he beat Mir leaving 1 more fight on his contract. That fight was for the number 1 contender spot. UFC knew that Vera only had one fight left and did not want to give him a title shot with out a new contract to avoid the possibility of another champion leaving once they won the belt.

So the UFC offers him a contract which IMO was a great one. More money than Vera was worth. UFC offered him something like a 3 fight contract worth something like $375,000 a fight while he was looking for a 6 fight contract (which the ufc does not usually give, rarely do they give 5 fight contracts) worth something in the region of $875,000 a fight. Apprantly Elite XC has offered him something like a 3 fight contract at something around $900,000 to 1 Million a fight but not sure if that offer fell through or if he took it.

ok

all you people who seem to think it was stopped too quickly please tell me what you think would have happened if the fight wasnt stopped?

chuck was completely flattened and if you think he would have somehow recovered from it you're wrong.

He would have continued to get pounded and could possibly have suffered an injury which is why fights are stopped like that.

Have to agree, permanent eye or possible brain injury is worth stopping a fight. I think the ref's are pretty good and know what to look for.

Agreed that the fighter's safety is most important but, I've been watching since UFC 1 & I've seen some dudes take a **** kickin, unable to focus eyes for a min & still end up winning the fight. My beef is that for the belt you gotta let it go as long as possible to let the champ give it his all. (just my opinion) *** unless the UFC is planning a quick re-match fight for a huge PPV crowd***
Remember these guys nfight for a living, I've seen guys look like they were ko'd & hang in there long enough to get there head back. (clinching or whatever)

& They need to get Vera in there, like him or hate him he's one to watch out for, his skills are killer, he's got great hands/ knees & great spead for heavy weight. (being only around 225lbs) I'd put him against anyone, let's not forget that he's got mad wrestling skills too & never has had to use them in the UFC.

Hey how about Alexander kickin Jardine's ***, pretty impresive!

Question for Shlammed,

How's Cro cop? did he injury his leg (knee/ foot) when he went down last fight? His leg didn't look good, hope he's not injured from that fight.

*werd

as much as i wanted chuck to win he got tagged and wasn't intelligently defending himself... what do you think he would've done had big john not stopped it... magically gotten back up??? his hands weren't even infront of his face when it was stopped...

it was ended properly... there was like 4 or 5 punches that weren't blocked that landed once he was already on his back....

chuck's gonna learn to keep his guard up and not leave himself open to someone like that for next time... otherwise he's gonna end up in the same situation
