Overhaulin Civic: Your thoughts

Sorry if this was posted already, but didn't see a thread. Close if needed.

If not, what was your opinion on the car? I just saw it for the first time tonight and thought it was done pretty well, but nothing that made me "ooooh" and "awww" over.

Sorta blended with alot of the other show cars I have seen before. I think I expected a little more from foose. Def some more in the engine area.

Your thoughts?

Well he used my idea for the sidemoldings. So that was cool. I didnt feel the paint to much, and engine setup is defiently better with a built B motor setup for spray. Overall I think the car painted a solid car and it would be pretty dam nice with all the little body mods.

imo not the greatest work.
if the colour scheme of the car was white red and black it would resemble the ECKO CIVIC to a T.

the bodywork was obviously done nicely. i liked the way he modified the rear buddy club 2 bumper but the back of the bumper was to plain. the stripped graphics was disappointing. too many colours.
the dash mounted centre channel speaker was POORLY done.
all in all not the greatest build compared to some of the hardcore **** he did. but for a 7 day build the owner got more then enough.
and was done beyond possible for 7 days.

Yeah I did wonder about that centre channel. Although they didn't show the clip to long it sorta stood out like a sore thumb.

p.s. the fact that he kept the side moulding shaved hole look is 10 million times better. its the same thing i always tell all my customers to do when they wanna go shaved look.

the funny thing about this whole thing is that this buildup of the car and the owner of the car reminded me of adam (spiderman) his car was bonded more then the overhauled civic and i had to grind away the same amount all over the place.

Some good...some bad.

Bad: body kit, one piece headlights, cobra seats, NOS.

Good: Bear brakes, Eibach suspension, sound system.

I didn't really like the paint scheme, but its was typical overhaulin foose. I think the ride fit the owner...so mission accomplished...lol.

So yea....Before this show was aired i found 1 - 2 pics of civic coupes with the moldings done like that. Iam giving up that idea as now i can see it happening all over the place.

PS. Search H-T for my post about 1 month ago.

I agree about the stripes, wasn't impressed but like Jay says, for a 7 day build, you can't complain too much, especially with the condition it was in.

BTW did any of you catch Rides? Mike Lavellee is a painting god!!

Yea...Just saw them...And i checked his detailed page aswell.
Its kinda hard to notice on a black car i guess. To me most angles you cant even tell if there is a molding there or not.....

But...Back to topic

im sure if someone took your pile and turned it into that you wouldn't complain.

am i right?

i wouldn't complain at all not too many people strip it down and rebuild , seen too many people just cover **** up with bondo.

my thoughts it was sick.

I liked it and don't think I would be able to complain... the only thing that sucks about that, is he probably had his own vision for the car and his own neat idea's and now it would suck just to screw with that one now that it is all done...

I wish someone would do that to my car, save me the time and money lol

i think shows like these are hilerious..
like overhaulin.. pimp my ride.. ect..
i mean they give themselves a time line..
7 days to get the work done.. but i mean they have a crew of over 30 people working on a car.. lol
like in the civic.. it said they had 3 hours left to do the work.. the seats wernt installed yet.. no windshield.. no door panels.. or ne of that.. and i mean for 2 or 3 people this would take prolly 10 hours..
i think monster garage is way better.. its more of a reality.. they actually fail on some of the challenges..

I am sure they had some they failed on, but you will never see them on air.

I hated the graphics they put on the car. Maybe if they stuck to a single darker tone, it would have looked alot better. The purple/teal just killed it.
