Paycheque Deductions

I just got out of school in April and I've been working at my job now for 3 and half months now. I suddenly realized that approximately 22% of my gross pay goes to federal tax, E.I and C.P.P.

Do you spend it on your car, girls, rent or invest it?

I heard that if I invest in RRSP I'll be able to get some of my money back when I do my taxes. I'm just wondering what you guys out there are doing with your hard earned money.

I hate thinking about finances. Boo.

By far the largest expense for me is insurance payments(2 cars, 1 motorcycle) followed by rent. The rest of it goes to the bank/investments.
Unfortunately the poll you set up does not allow me to select everything there as that is the case. The exception being "girl" instead of girls.

Most my money goes towards school, bills, then what ever is left towards the car. Gotta like living at home, dont have to pay rent. But yeah, full time university tution sucks.

after taxes...

50% goes into car/student loan (should have been paid off a year ago, but i dipped into my line of credit for stupid things)

other 50% goes into lunch 5 times a week, dinner once a week, go out twice a week, go out and get drunk once or twice a week, gas, weekend trips. i also have a monthly payment on property i purchased with my dad which comes out of this.

i pay for things like vacations, car insurance, exp car items from my line of credit.

---

once my line of credit is paid off, that 20% will go into my rrsp, 20% into land payments, and 10% into short term savings fo vacations, car insurance, etc...

something like that. i don't believe in getting a savings account. i rather invest in property. all the geezers are gonna be retiring.. and i know lots of people want to move out of toronto/scarborough for a number of reasons. being born here and not understanding store signs being one of them.

a lot of my money goes to my car. I should really make a budget. I try to save as much money as I can. Atleast 15-20% of my pay cheque goes in the bank.. the rest is for my bills and the left over is my spending money.

40% of my net income goes into bills like car, insurance, student loan, credit card, gas and whatnot, money for parents... etc. 40% goes into wedding fund; about 15% goes into RRSP, personal saving account and allowance for gf and whatnot. I use about 5% on my own. And I try to have left overs.

Car spending basically comes out of the credit card payment.

whats a paycheque? lol

since my parents left in september, about 1/4 or my paycheck goes towards my car payment and insurance for two cars.. another 1/4 for living expenses.. rent/food and the rest goes to paying off debt.. and once in a while I manage to squeek in a night out or a nice dinner out or a new toy or whatnot.. i'm trying to work off my debt so I can start a good savings plan..

I did a little budgeting the other day and found out my monthly income is barely covering my basic expenses: rent, line of credit, insurance, hydro, internet, cell. Then if you add in food, gas and tuition im way over. I now understand why students are broke! If i worked enough to cover all my expenses I would not have time for school. So im going to be going farther and farther into debt. That is until i go to work on the oil sands for 4 months in the summer. I've got a hookup through a cousin, were electricians make 150g's a year. So i figure go for the summer and make enough to cover the rest of the years expenses...

well, since there was no choice of selecting multiple options i selected rent, but all my money goes towards tuition, rent, car payment, insurance, parking, gas, groceries, cell phone, internet...oh and BOY...not girls...BOY. but yeah, i go into debt every single month cuz i only get $24k/yr but minus $6200 for tuition so really only $18k/yr. so yeah, no investing for me yet, but i'll be done paying off my car by jan '06 woohoo!

unfourtunately allot more of your money goes to taxes than 22% And then you become a home owner 40% becomes a dream!

I have no job as of this moment, quit my summer job at the end of August. So right now, any expense is just coming straight from savings.

When I had a job, it was 20% for fun, 40% Credit Card and the rest in the bank.
