as a rule of thumb, anything paypal sends you will have your username at the top of the letter, ie dear bob_barker (no thats not my name lol), so if you receive emails like the one above that says paypal user or paypal member, its 100% fake, NO exceptions, no matter how real it looks

theres a varitiy of thoes going around, i got one similar, same with from ebay too.. i got one from ebay that had the paypal look and style to it... now they're just getting careless

just look at the link, it'll say please change your password by clicking http://paypal.com/password.cgi or somthing and when you roll your mouse over it or actually click it, the actual link is to somthing like http://203.133.03.241/sfjdalskjf13123.cgi

you gotta watch out for any place where you would put credit information in. they almost 99.9% if not 100% of the time will never send you a mail outta the blue saying theres secruity problems blah blah and you need to update your password and ****

just this morning i got this, i never even heard of sun trust.

now although the whole thing seems shady, people look at the link and are like 'well the link goes directly to the site it must be real'
but when you click on the link, or even roll the mouse over it, it takes you to http://216.193.200.147:87/st/index.htm which lucky for the people who were fooled takes them to the actual suntrust main site now, only because this one was reported quick enough to sun trust's abuse center and they took over the link

Most cases they have you enter your account number and passwords and they're free to do as they please.
