People really think their shiat is gold!

Looking through the for sale forums, I can't believe the price people are asking for USED stuff. I know some say firm and others are obo so there is room to haggle a bit but come on. You can't expect to get what you paid for a used item. Why do you think pawn shops do so well, they buy the crap for what it's really worth and can be reasonably resold for.

Unless its rare, mint, unsued (ie still in package), or recently purchased, you cant expect to get much more than half of what you paid.

If people weren't cheap they would go out and but it new.

That's how I approach selling used stuff.

Some prices are cheap, some are a bit high, just need to shop and compare.

it's all about supply and demand with a little competition thrown in for good measure...

if you want it and i'm the only one that has it i can ask what i want for it, and eventually, if you want it bad enough you'll have to pay me my asking price....
if i find i can't sell it i have a choice, keep my cash tied up in the item or drop my price to what my "competitors" are asking or less to unload it..

you have the option of buying it or not..
pass on it and miss out on getting possibly a one of a kind item, or pass on it til/if the price drops, or pay what they're asking..

welcome to the world of commerce

^^^^haha
I like the people that put stuff up for sale, say they will sell it to you, then flake out. I mean, if you don't wanna sell it then don't post it up.

ya, seems alot of items are priced alittle high, and alot of new people posting not reading the rules about bumps and price.

if no-one buys it, they will lower their price. also if they want a quick sale they will lower their price. When i've sold items, i post it at what I think its worth, if no interest i lower the price to a point apparently other people think its worth. if its to low, don't sell it, if its too high, don't buy it.

your right though, many, many items. I recently saw a post on another forum, headlight used for a week or so $250, new was $238 tax-in from dealership....thats just unreal.

its also up to buyer to know what they can find the item for new and also sometimes there are crazy good deals too

One thing bothers me is that if your part is replica, then say it is replica, or "style". Don't say it is so and so and when people question you about its authenticity, then you say it is fake.
