Cool

I'm covered with one piece. Full back, with a leak to my shoulders, along the collar bones and bi's. All hideable in a T-shirt. It took me 3-4 years to design. The only thing i suggest is to NOT make it an impulse tattoo. If you choose to get work done, make sure you don't rush to find an artist. Do some research. I have one guy who works on me, a close friend. We work from his house, no shop. Piercings are a different story, i have 2, one on each ear at the cart. I like them, but if i ever changed my mind i could take them out. Give it some serious thought. Serious. Personally, i've seen alot of horrible work. When i say horrible, i mean horrible.
Be picky and for godsake, please be creative. I used to work with 2 clowns who had brand names on them. I'm talkin a nike swoosh and the other had a Reebok txt tattoo. GET REEEEEAL FOO! Enough said.

Yup, this is something that ur going to have with you for the rest of ur life...I waited like five years on the idea that I had. I still wanted it, so I got it. Found an artist that I liked his style of work. Took me a while to decide on him only because I was going to be trusting him with putting something permanent on my body and that's the way you should think of it. You have to think about the future when you get a tatt done and the effect it will have on the rest of ur life ie. wife, kids, family, friends, job...ect...everything! or u could just say f-it and get something u'll regret later.

True, but mine isnt really like a picture.. Its just straight up a few lines... You know tribal art? Im just getting a few kinda like tribal lines done on my back. I dont see how hard it can be to screw that up... Its not like im actually getting a picture done.

Do you have to book appointment to get one done? Or do you just walk in and get one?

Well find out how long the artist has been tattooing for.
It depends on where ur getting it done....most well know skilled artist you have to book (like mine :P) but a lot of places if its just something easy, you can usually do a walkin, unless there busy.
All I can say is take ur time and make sure you'll like it for a life time.

Does it mean anything to you? IMHO, Tribal art for tattoo's is played out, the armbands, etc. Turned into a fad, everyone had to get one. If it doesn't mean anything to you, and you are str8 up just doing it for a fashion statement, i would re-think this over. If it has meaning, more power to you. Goodluck with it.

Actually it does have great meaning to me.... Its just lines, but 2 me, the meaning of it is someone... I look at the tribal art, or the design on my back as a beach kinda design, something as of a surfer kinda dude... I look at that, and where i met the best girl of my life, was on a beach.... THats where it comes into play.... And to top it all off. THe design is almost going to be in a W shape in a sense, her inital. That is the first meaning.

2nd meaning... Is it is everything i am... THe art looks wicked and its shows a side of me, like exotic and spontanious kinda thing, and chillen in the beach scene and all the extreme sports i do.

Also many people, i have heard recommend Way cool tattoos. Very clean and very nice people... I have seen some of their work on the net, looks good, but im not getting that high of a work done, like lines wont be 2 difficult... Ive read alot about them, and they seem to be a very good place.

Couldn't have said it better myself. You are a smart man. I know a few of my buddies wish they could take it all back. I have a friend who has 4 pieces, he regrets 3. The one he still loves is the most recent, about a year old. All of the others were done when he was in highschool, he is now 24. To each his own, i just don't want to see anyone making an immature decision. Art is permanent. I always get a shocked reaction from people who see my ink, because i have about 50/h on me of meaningfull work & it shows. BE creative, can't stress that enough. Be an individual.

Thanks bro
I too have friends who don't like what they got back in the day but at the time they thought it was sooo cool. It's a life altering decision.
You have any pictures of your tattoo? I'll post mine up tonight it I get the chance

i just got my second tat done and i really like this one. my first one is my avatar on my right shoulder. i am portuguese. that is my heritage and it will never change.

all i got to add is this: when getting a tat make sure its something that represents YOU and who YOU are. things that DO NOT change in your life like culture, thinking, sacrifices, successes are good starting off points for ideas. you WILL regret it if you add a piece of fad body art to yourself.

Guys guys... We have already figured out that this actually has meaning to me... The design symbolizes everything that I am.... The beach, bikes, surfs, wakes.... To me, this tribal wave represents that to me... And to make it all better, its where i met an exceptional woman, on the beach...

Now where do you guys get yours done? Im trying to find a place, im thinking way cool tattoos, but im not sure yet... .IM trying to get some input.

^^^good for you bro. so are you going to be wake boarding and hitting the surfs at the age of 50? if not, you better think it over because the tattoo will still be there.

When im 50, i sure as hell hope i will be surfing... But surfing is apart of me.... It always will be.,... It will be a memory... All the times i had on the beach, all the people i met on the beach, and the memory of that one girl.. A love... That i met on the beach.
