pet snake anyone?
so my little cousin has a pet snake as long as she is tall.... i thought it was really cool.. i am seriously thinking about getting one.. always wanted one as a kid.. but was never allowed.. now things work a little differently even though i live with my parents still.
how much work is it, did you notice a smell, etc...
i've always liked ball pythons.

talking of snakes...my cousin who lives in mississagua has a ball python..its a young one..jsut three months old. its fed with dead mice and what not...its a dirty process in my opinion..haha but he once fed it with a live baby mouse...damn...but that was just bad imo.
so if you want one...you will be getting dead frozen animals for it to feed on..either you make frequent trips to the store or you keep a small freezer for them. smell can be prevented if you regularly clean the enclosure. its not just like keeping birds....its a lot of work.
once these pythons grow big...it becomes tricky. the worst is when they are hungry...they will damn strike anything that moves within their proximity...even you....so feeding them at that time is a whole different ball game and if you have kids around in the house or even when they visit.....make sure the snake is in its cage.
long story short...pythons can not be domesticated...the instinct is just too strong as a predator.

are you crazy or ignorant? they are called ball python because they curl up into a ball when they want to hide.. with their head in the middle...
most snakes are not very aggressive. ball python's are exceptionally relaxed (on average)
they can't be domesticated to the point where they will slither to the door when you come home and chew your shoes when you neglect them.
they are actually much less work than keeping birds... ball pythons can be fed once every two weeks.. and will **** once per feeding.. their '****' is acid... all this requires is spot cleaning.
a ball python only on average grows to 5' and is not large enough to kill a cat or anything bigger.
we're not speaking about a burmese python or an anaconda....
god willing, one day you'll say something correct.

Check out my Colombian Boa Constrictor Imperator (BCI).
She's about 3 years old and 4 feet long. She eats once every 2 weeks and is a great pet.

I actually bought one off of try10 on Torontocivics a couple of years ago.
http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=87496&highlight=ball+py thon.
I've owned all sorts of pets since I was a kid, birds, fishes, frogs, hamsters, rabbits, dogs, and I can honestly say that this guy is the easiest to take care of by far! I notice no smell. he stays in his cave most of the time and comes out at night. I throw him a live hopper mouse or two ( $1.99 each at pj's in STC ) about every two weeks. That the only time I can't handle him. Like a day or two after a feeding he will strike at anything in his Terrarium. I still have the little tank he came in and heat lamp if you want it. come pick it up for free and you can check him out!
