is there anything logical too do? i dont think i can really have a positive or negative view on this.... but i still think you are going too see more and more cases on verbal assault on gay officers, and i think fellow brown folks, and asians too... lets face it, some jobs arent intended for a majority of our demographic.... all in all, i think this leans both ways quiet a bit, its a matter of making the law system more efficient and respectable, or taking steps back into doing something that would give society a bad view on both white ppl and police..... its a lose lose

imo, hire who is best suited for the job. Hire who is the best applicant, or who had the best resume/interview.
If you want diversity, nothing wrong with that.. but hire who would do the job the best...

umm... how will you know the officer is gay? Its not like his badge or identification is going to say "HomoSexual" on it.

I don't see a big deal. So they want someone to reflect diversity. Most if not all people would not even be able to tell the cop was gay.

Zombie cops eat people on the way to jail. May not be best idea.

The real question should be why non-white folks don't go into a career with the police? Not where and how to get a water full of stone.

lol im sure when you see a guy who "talks,walks, and acts like a gay guy" you can tell.. but many just act very normal and unless they told you, you would not know.... And they are wearing a uniform and doing their job as a cop.. if they present themselves in a manner which is considered "normal" how would you tell?..


And even if it was clearly obvious, id like to see the homophobe's verbally assault them and see what happens when they get arrested lol.. I have not heard of a lot of black officers or women officers being on the recieving end of it, why would gays?


BTW, on a little bit of a side topic, A group of kids at my old high school, (prodominatly muslim (somolian) studens) tried to start a group/assossiation for gay students (like the one muslim students have) and they were denyed by the principal because it would "offend the muslim students".. unfair treatment to the gays.

As someone who has applied to several different Police Services over the past 6 years or so, I would like to say that the whole hiring process is B/S.

Hiring the right person for the job, who is the most qualified and has the best combination of education/life/work experience, is in good physical conditioning and meets the basic requirments is what they should do. However, they don't. I've been given several excuses as to why my application has been turned down, when on paper it's flawless.

It does help that in certain areas to have people of certain race and gender who can better understand the needs and the situation of that particular neighbourhood. BUT, hiring someone simply because they are a certain race or gender is B/S.

In otherwords, if a homosexual male and I both apply, he will get hired before me and I'll be given some generic excuse like "not suitable".

I don't see any need to identify a group and try to hire them. they should try to appeal to them more in order to attract more qualified applicants, so they have more applicants to choose from... not debase the quality of the police pool by hiring unqualified individuals to 'represent' minority groups. I mean really... is anyone surprised gays aren't interested in policing???? Man, the gay guys just party and travel and ****... they have no interest in policing. It's like trying to recruit straight men into interior decorating or figure skating. It's totally moot. We don't complain about not being well represented in those industries.

I think it's time for a young white male uprising.

there is no need to SAY anything.... just screen the applicants as they come in. if more white males apply to be in the force, it's because more white males have the training and physical/mental profile for policing.

ok you guys ever watch jackass?? could you ever see a black guy doing that? or black guy playing hockey? prolly not a whole lot of them. that's because the brain is wired differently, yes.... DUE TO RACE... same goes for GAYS... their brain works differently, that's why they are just not interested in policing. it's a pretty simple concept.
