I had one. After a few years the batteries died (2 6volts). I didn't really know what I was doing so I figured the 2 6volts might as well be a 12 volt so I threw in a car battery I had lying around. Man that thing was quick after, but alas, the motors burned out after like 10 mins of tearing up the streets. Good times.

a new motor will last about 3months running on a big battery like that so yea an old motor wont last too long...mommy doesnt want me to make it faster yet heck our kid is only 2...I'll wait for when he is bigger to juice up the next powerwheels.

What I would do now is grab one of those $100 generators walmart or whatever sells and just hook up the 12 volt output to the motors wired in series. The generator puts out like 8 amps in 12 volts. Bomb.

This was my first power wheels I had when I was 6 or 7. I had it for about ten years before I sold it (big mistake). 250cc 2 stroke, one gear 'forward', pull start, rear disc brake (only one disc on the rear and that's it for brakes). My dad had it goven at 1/4 throttle or so until I was ten.

That's the closest thing I they had to a power wheels back when I was young. My daughter has a powerwheels truck I bought off a co-worker. She'll be three next summer and hopefully good enough to use it.

sweet!!! I love these projects...modded my baby cousin's barbie hot wheels for her...she loves it.

parts needed:

Old two stroke weed wacker with built in lever hand clutch
Blow Torch

Imagination required...if you need, I can pm you a low down on how to mount the motor.

Btw, you will need to replace the plastic wheels - those with that thin strip of rubber down the center of em...or else it's just gonna turn into a burnout machine. lol
