A few summers ago some of my neighbours had their church-group over and they were doing kareoeke to born-again Christian songs. I lost it and called the police on them.

If they were playing AC/DC or rap music I probably would have left them alone. I just can't tolerate people praising Jesus out loud in my neighbourhood.

The cops showed up because I told them the party was getting out of control and people were fighting and throwing beer bottles. This wasn't true, but I wanted justice!

I guess I am a jerk.

meh!

too bad your *** didnt get sent to jail for lying in your statement.
its illgal to lie to the operator or anyone who will dispatch a police officer(s) because then calls cant get prioritized according to severity of the crime.

What happened to love and tolerance?

Would you tolerate people praising Allah?

You got me there Bruce. I am not Muslim, though.

Oh, and I didn't lie to the police, I exaggerated. Besides, I provided my name, if they felt like I was breaking the law, they could have come to my house and charged me. What would you have done in my situation? I had to get up early the next morning.

I would have likely walked over and asked them to shut up.

Or I would have gotten louder than them.

My neighbours are jesus freaks as well. They suck.

They called my house at like 2am on new years "can you take the party inside?"

we went outside to bust the piniata... it didn't work to well, so i smashed it on the ground and then lit it on fire. They called when we were already going inside.

i regret not inviting them in for a beer instead of saying "we're already inside now"

thats probably the best way to deal with the situation... you get experience working on a car. he gets a fixed car and you have nothing left to bitch about .. plus it starts the bonding of neighbours....
