they're coming out with gt5 soon for ps3 exclusively i believe. gt4 was wicked so i have high hopes for gt5. i might get a ps3 just for it if it's really as good as i imagine it to be =)

I got my ps2 almost exclusively for gt4 and it's dvd player capability, but then they came out with tones of other cool games for the ps2 shortly after, so it worked out in the end.

Now the ps3 is out, and I wait for gt5. I played the demo, it didn't do much for me. It feels a bit more refined than gt4, and it looks much better. But it still felt like a revised version of gt4.

One game (gt5) is not enough to justify spending that much money on a console when there are no other games out for it that I'm interested in (and there won't be for some time yet).

The 360 has WAY more games I'm interested in (forza 2, ace combat 6, and too many more to list), and it plays regular dvds in 5.1 surround sound. Thats is all I need. I have a 32" tube tv which I will have for a few years yet, so the graphics are not as big of a deal for me since I won't even be able to see the difference. Yes the ps3 also does some cool stuff like connecting to your pc from halfway around the world and all that fancy stuff, but I'll never use those features.

For what I want and need at right now, the 360 is the better way to go imo. Does everything I need it to and it's a lot less money.

How many games do you friggen need?

COD4, Uncharted, Assassins Creed, Ratchet and Clank, Unreal (coming out in a few days)... do you go through a game a day or something? The games are slowly coming out. Since I have a 46" 1080p, its quite logical to go with a PS3. An upconverting DVD player will run me $150, free 5 blu rays are around $100, I got extra controller/cable when patched with Dell $100.

LOL ... who buys video games these days? Spend 50$ to mod ur 360 and u can rent and burn all the games u'd like, or spend 15$ on each game instead of the ridiculously over priced 49-**$ a game ... something the ps3 is uncapable of right now thats why i stay away

and as for upconverting ... have u even seen it? ... looks the exact same :P soo good luck with that but the blu ray is more or less the same as HD dvd ...

I will just give my .02 on this. I have a PS3 and I have played XBOX 360 many times; at the moment the 360 does have more games out there for it. Why? It has been out longer than the Playstation. You can get quite the bit of games for the Playstation as it lyes already; Assassins Creed, Call of Duty 4, Skate, Medal of Honour Airbourne, Ace Combat, give the Playstation console some time. Not to mention the fact that you can run better OS on the Playstation. You can put a laptop harddrive in the PS3. While you guys spend money on upgrading to a 120GB for near $100 I can go out and get a 320GB for nearly that price. You can store games on the PS3 as well. Online is free, but not everyone likes to play online anyway. I myself prefer to have a few people over and play multiplayer. I do however own an XBOX and Halo plus Halo2, I enjoy the games. I dont hate the 360 but it is priced to highly for me to buy it. Not to mention the Sixaxis controllers with Litium Ion batteries in them.

currently, the ps3 is inferior....to both the 360 and wii. all sporting games run at 30fps on ps3 and 60fps on 360. the ps3 has maybe 3 really good games and the 360 has alot more. the ps3 is a well priced br player, not a gaming console. as for the 360 being maxed out, that is a joke. every game looks slightly better on the 360 whereas the same game on the ps3 looks largely inferior. programmers have framerate and programming issues with the ps3 since its inception. keep dreaming ps3 lovers, sony fumbled on this one. when they eventually catch up, graphically, it will be too late. the wii and 360 installer base will be huge. no blockbuster game on the ps3 can heal a shotgun wound to the dome piece........

easy to mod a 360 whats the price to do it? and pac mall still carries these games after all the busts and stuf?

i have a wii...the graphics are kinda...well...cheap. the way the games are played is the thing that rocks...steering cars with the wii controller is way better than a joy sick...you tilt the whole controler so it has way more sensitivity(not the right word). i have nfs prostreet and it is pretty damn cool. wouldnt trade my $280 wii for any other console...just need more games.

To revive a few month old thread...

My 360 just died. The ring of death greeted me just the other day. I don't really want to send it back to Microsoft and get a rebuilt/refurbished one back that might die on mw again.

After much research and discussion with PS3 owner's, the wife is buying me one for my b-day/anniversary.

My new 50" plasma and the Blue-Ray player will be a nice combo. The current selection of games suites me fine. COD4 and MOH are all I have been playing lately.

i'm a sony fan for life ever since i figured out how to copy/burn games for ps1. i still play ps1 and i have about 25+ games. only one is still origanal, the rest are burnt. we have ps2 but it's time to upgrade and ps3 will be the one.

xbox does have some good games though

however with that said, microsoft announced they will be killin off HD add-on and tagging on Blu-ray those guys are too smart they said they planned to keep both technologies available incase one over powered the other which blu ray is raping HD right now. And almost all companies (fox, universal) are going blu ray exclusive so microsoft is coming out with a blu ray add on

bahaha get a real system. Wii is meh i have it never play it. PS3 & XBOX 360 are for real gamers. Wii are for the pg13 ahhaha tho i will admit its amusing with a bunch of ppl just not alone

^^ I agree. The Wii may be fun to play, but when it come down to real games and real simulator games, 360/ps3 is the way to go. If you want to play arcade games like pro-street, get a wii.

I got the xbox 360 and don't regret it one bit. Forza 2 is an amazing game, highly under rated imo. It's more realistic than GT4/5 in many ways, and the sounds are spot-on.

Been playing forza 2 since christmas and I've almost finished it. I've also tried ace combat 6, another awsome game, and burnout paradise - a fun arcade game with insane damage effects. COD4 is next on the list of rentals. (too poor to buy the games...lol...for now anyways)

fifa and nhl are all i really play.... and vicki loves guitar hero, and my brothers own both a ps3 and a 360.. i just like the ps3 better...

so ps2 will due until i can afford a ps3

I have a Wii as well....I'm now entertaining the idea of selling it. The sports games I love, like Madden 08 and Woods 08, but anything other than sports games are just not fun with the two controllers you need to use.

So for the time being I will go with the 360, until PS3 gets it's library stocked
