quebec separating from canada
so on my trip through canada I learned a number of things.
one being that i don't like separatists. we had more than one run in where we were insulted and talked about because we were obviously such non-frenchies.
i was having a great time yelling back and forth with an absolute moron who insisted we knew french and were only trying to **** him off... but we left and went somewhere cause one of my friends was about to get stupid and cause unneccessary problems...
I think I have an excellent idea.
It would be ideal for Canada to allow Quebec to separate. Then we could declare war and annex them. I would join the army for free if this was the case.
After stomping them to the ground, we could subjucate them and get rid of french from canada altogether.
just a thought that will make the separatists happy at first, and make the rest of us all happy later.
what are your thoughts?

LOL, pretty funny, but I am so sick and tired of the sepertist ideals and one of the main reason's why I moved out of Quebec. To be honest, most of the strong sepertist are the young that don't know better.
I would love to see them seperate and see how they plan on surviving on their own.
Funny how they want to seperate but keep all the benefits they enjoy now as Canadians. Forget that shyte, you seperate you go all the way.
since the last kibosh of the sepertist party, the economy has picked up in Quebec, and they better realize fast that they have to deal with people outside of Canada and not just the rest of the Country.

people don't learn unless they are allowed to make their mistakes..
let them seperate.. let them get impoverised.. and then let them cower back humbled and be accepted back in return for much higher tax rates in the joyous republic of quebec.

I think if Quebec separates from the rest of Canada the boarder should be 100% closed, pay the $$ owed to Canada if in debt, and can't use our $$.
I don't think Quebec could support itself on it's own.
Also once on my trip to Quebec french people are complete 'jerks' towards ENGLISH speaking people.

I'm from Quebec, I'm not french, and I think I am nice (shut up bruno).......anyways, it's like anything, you can't judge the many by a few. And yes I have dealt with those french that do not like english speaking people. Imagine, being black and engish in Quebec.
There ARE french speaking people that do appreciate french and english.

I am all for them leaving the country. it's simple matter of looking at what Canada is and what Quebec tries so hard not to be.
Canada is a country of Multicultural societies. All are equal. However Quebec wants to be considered Unique in this country, and thats fine, there are many unique cultures in Canada and thats what makes Canada Great. But at the same time they want to be treated Special because of their uniqueness, and this I have a problem with. you want to be special sure but you are no more special then the rest of the country. if you feel you are Better then then the rest of the country and more special then the rest of the population, then Good riddenance. go be special elsewhere.
The requirement by the federal government to have it's employees speak both official languages really hinders and holds back most Canadians. We have a larger Cantonese speaking population in Canada then we do a French speaking one. With that said is the federal government going to change the language laws and require Cantonese also be known by it's employees.

I have been skiing in quebec quite a few times (in both big tourist areas like tremblant and smaller areas in the eastern townships that are more used by the locals), and have never ran into any anti-english attitudes where I was, and I made it clear I was not even going to attempt to speak french when I was talking to people.

canada should let quebec seperate.
then close off the boarders around it.
lets see them trying to do trade now with the rest of canada for anything.
then we should charge them a fee called "stupid french bastards" so when they try to enter canada they pay like a huge fee just to step into our country.
stupid homo's/

things have definatley changed since then, and it wasn't the entire country it was just quebec.
they also would've needed more then just 50% to 'win', and even if they won that vote that wouldn't have meant anything just yet. You know how it is, if you really really care about something you go vote, i'd bet more people were all for staying with canada but didn't go out and vote...
meh either way if they did decide to leave i'm all with you guys let them get screwed over and realize how good they have it, but i think that feeling is going away more and more, they realize after **** like the sponsorship scandal that they are hated by many canadians because they influence the government so much...
it's one thing to say 'pssh i'm gonna leave'... it's another thing to be kicked out lol, all of a sudden they won't want to leave so bad

the only intelligent post in this whole thread...
some of you people are so narrow minded, your no worse than a southern bigot that thinks all blacks are dumb...I would call you a racist and this thread is full of it.
In case you haven’t noticed no referendum on sovereignty has ever been won what does that mean? since there’s so much stupidity in this thread ill spell it out... the minority (not majority) of the province is brainwashed by the french leaders cuz they cant understand English to hear the pitfalls of separation.
While I do agree there are some ignorant people here in quebec that **** me right the hell off, there are ignorant people everywhere, like have you ever had an ignorant american give you a hard time because he cant understand your dumb canadian accent? Or how many times have you yelled at the girl at the pizza pizza call center cuz you cant understand her pakistani accent?
anyway this is clearly a hate thread, its no worse than some of the other racist threads that have been closed in the past, and i think this one should be too.
btw im not french or do i have any heritage in my family, i moved here for a good career opportunity, and I have grown to see both sides fairly, and yes I do sympathise for Quebecers who are slowly loosing their heritage to the anglais.
And I also disagree with the childnes of some of the governments decisions, like store signage and technical termology used in the auto industry ect.... But for someone to go as far as to say all frenchies are dumb stupid homos and we should go to war with them, forgod sakes give your head a shake and think about how you would of, or have reacted in the past to attacks on your race, religion ect... bunch of Hypocrites

exactly and there was a hella lot of fake ballots, and scandle involved, like any non ledgable no vote was automatically dismissed and throwen out, like if my X was a little bit outside the box they would throw it out. And guess what they cheated brainwashed thousands and still lost! Reality is theres a much greater percentage of "Canadians" here, i live it everyday I know whos canadian and whos not.

Ive discussed this with the guys at work, the only fair way to do it to keep eveyone happy is to issue all quebec residents either a blue card or a red canadian card, that way anyone holding a blue card be quebecers and not pay federal tax, but get raped at the border and anyone holding a red card can remain canadian, pay federal tax and use the healthcare system ect...

I want to separate from Canada...just not with the Quebec separatists.
Canadians are over-governed, over-taxed and get no service in return.
Like last night I was watching the news, and Federal Parliment was in session for the first time since summer break, talking about cost of fuel. Liberals stated that there will be no reduction of taxes on gas, but will be issuing rebates to low income families and elderly to compensate. I'm all for helping the poor, but really us working middle-income Canadians are feeling the brunt of this increase. Yet again we get FU CKED!!!!
