Well, I still love Montreal, just don't care for the political bs. My parent's are still there as well as my Grandmother, aunt and my brother. I will be there this weekend for a friend's 40th (yes I did say 40th) B day surprise party. My roots are with Quebec. I was born and raised there and I would never change that for anything. But for me to survive work and get ahead in the business world, I had to move and basically it came down that one fact, not being able to speak french well.

I will even go further than that. My wife also grew up in Chateauguay, even though her parents are from Jamaica, they put both her and her sister into french school..........not french emergin, total french. All her schooling has been like that, right up to college in Ottawa. So when it came time to apply for jobs, she sent resume's to Toronto and Montreal to various businesses. Who do you think responded to her? She didn't get one response from Montreal, not even a rejection letter. To grow up and live there and to be fluently bilingual and not able to get a job? If things were different, who knows, I may have stayed, but I had to think of my future and what was best for me to move forward.

BTW, use to hang out lots on the West Island, had friends that lived in St Lazare and Hudson.

Too much partying when I was a teen.

The whole problem with this country is that there are too many cry babies. WE got frenchies crying about rights, we got idiots complaining about gas, we got tree huggers pissin about the environment, old people complaining about healthcare and CRYING university students like me who don't want to pay high tuition.

I say this, a country of 30 million people, focus on what actually matters. "French" Canadians need to understand whats lost is lost. Thats the way things went back then, You get ****ed up in a WAR you lose your land. End of Story. No separation no nothing. They should be happy with what they have now, other countries don't do this **** for people.

GAS??? Wtf is is gas. Are you that ****ing cheap? You wanna drive your fast car all over the streets like a champ thats your problem. What makes your car so much more important then someones life? If you're all for money for the poor and elderly (the people who actually need it, not ****ing working class people who can't manage money) then you wouldn't care about paying a $1.04 for gas. Use the ****ing TTC!!!!!

Now...What actually matters. Health and Education. Without health we will all die, and without education the future of this country is lost (more then it already is) I say this, DEAL with IT and stop asking for tax reductions on ****ing GAS and other pointless ****. You think Healthcare is bad now!!!???? LETS lower taxes and see how good it GETS!!!! Good IDEA.

Anywho....angry...I hate separatists, and people who talk about gas like its their life.

Sorry to all!

If Quebec separates from us, it's going to cause a whole lotta trouble, that's just going to give BC and Alberta a good reason to leave....they dont' like our government as it is and they think and are also kind of right all of our government concentration is leaned towards Ontario, and they wouldn't have a problem of leaving they have everything they need...why do you think we wont let them leave, because that's just going to cause our big country to crumble

besides i'm pretty sure Quebec is going to have a referendum real soon, also even if they do get a majority vote to leave there are plenty of aboriginals living in Quebec and the argument is that if quebec does seperate, that doesin't mean the aboriginals would want to leave as well so that's why this is a big *** complicated issue

you turn north before it.... theres a few diff ways you can go... if you come straight up the 401, it turns into the highway 20 at the border which takes you straight into montreal... The turn off to go north to tremblant is about 5-15 or even 30 mins before montreal city, depending on which highway you choose to go north.

personally i would go 401-20- then get off right after my place in sainte ann de belevue to go up to the highway 40 then north on the 13, then east on the 640, then bam north on the 15 straight to tremblant. easy as pie

I'd have no problems paying the taxes we do if I felt we were getting appropriate services with them, which I think we aren't. We have a corrupt federal government (and an incompetant one in ontario) who I watch over and over again waste my tax dollars on stupid stuff I could care less about (day care program, waste of time gun registry, bunch of other stupid programs, giving cabinet ministers raises, wasting like 2 years of parliments time debating whether smoking pot and gay marriges should be allowed, the list goes on of stuff I don't care about), so ya, I want to pay less taxes (money that I work hard to earn), its not because I want less essential and beneficial services, its because I want to see less of it pissed away on stupid crap....

what Canada really needs is proper representation in the Federal House of Commons...

which means for each seat there there should be an equal number of votes that could be cast (not everyone votes) to elect that official.

Also All parties that run at the federal level should have to have a Cadidate in all ridings.

Also it should be against the law for a separatist party to be allowed to run in the federal election...

Anyways proper representation of the population distribution in Canada would Solve a bunch of issues.

listen to her statements, she clearly explains where she stands. The answer to your question directly is vauge, but that doesnt matter now anyway because she is NOT pro seperatist (whether she was or wasnt). She speaks as Canada being a sovereign country as a whole, including quebec.

i hate the damn bilingual law and how everything has to be eng/fre.

i do surveys for the gov't and hate having to say bonjour to everyone i talk to even tho i phone everywhere in Canada EXCEPT Quebec. Like how f-ing stupid is that?!!?

i hate how an entire country has to bend over backwards for 1 province.

and if we didnt have that law none of the manfactured items would need to be printed in both languages therefore saving on costs which would mean slightly cheaper goods.

a separatist party in the federal government is wicked.. it's a bunch of guys saying "we hate you and want to separate, but we want your money" and showing up to "help them"

eastern canada has a number of frenchies, but they weren't jerks to us about us not speaking proper french.. so we were nice to them..

i'm not surprised at all these anti-quebecious statements.

It's interesting though how many of the people who make these statements would start screaming at someone about for being a racist or a bigot if they made a comment about not liking the customs/culture/beliefs/actions of another group such as muslims, asians, christians, africans, or whatever.

i support all emotion which includes hatred. being in canada, not a taliban or communist country, we are free to speak and express ourselves (within limits unfortunately) but still, I see too many people far too sensitive about other people's statements in our society.

If I hate the blue people, what do you care? I'm just some idiot on the internet. In real life as well, if you think I'm an idiot, then why would my statements bother you?

All jokes aside, Separatists are garbage. They are traitors to Canada and we should make laws to have them impaled on 10' poles outside of our parliament.

Haha

I'll take your comments with a grain of salt because I'm assuming your Mommy and Daddy pay for the mortgage, taxes, heat, hydro, cable, phone so you can be warm at night and have the amenities to live comfortably. They probably feed you too.

Let me break it down for you and you tell me how I'm bad with money:

Mortgage, property taxes, condo fees: $1,500
Heat and Hydro (electric heat): ~$250
Phone: $50
Cable: $119 (includes internet) If I didn't have internet you wouldn't have TCC.
Grocery (three people, I support a 7 year old): $500

This is all before insurance, carpayments, gas to drive to work, school fees, after school activities, ect. $2,419.

Just to let you know Income tax example a family grossing (before taxes) $42,000/year, $3,500/month actually only brings home $2,158. They are considered middle-class. Lucky for me my family makes more than that. But when you finish University, you'll be lucky to make that much. When living on your own you tell me how an increase in living expenses affect you. BTW, hydro is going up too and property taxes. And don't forget you are also taxed on everything you buy.
