I keep getting the run around when i'm calling the Brampton courthouse (That's where this case is being handled BTW)
Does anyone know of any numbers I can call, lawyers, offices, that will let me explain my case and give me a few minutes of free advice?
She can't hire a lawyer. She's being sued for $4000 that the x-bestfriend paid her for the damages. If she spends a few g's on a lawyer, it won't be worth it. Doesn't make sense. Unless you meant to hire a lawyer for the assault, and the scars, etc? If so, sorry lol.

Sounds like you have enough proof for the vandalism, so the only question there would be the money, because like another member mentioned, its going to be a she-said-she-said thing. Try to show proof of the physical harrassment (doctors report, police report, university report - there has to be something), and the threats as well (emails, phone calls, etc.). Everything seems to be leading up to the point where she is suing your sister so if you can prove that there was actual threats and harrassment, it might be looked upon by the judge as a desperate act by her ex best friend.
Contacting a lawyer for advice would be a good way to go if you are still at all unsure about whether you have enough evidence or not. The lawyer can at least tell your sister what she needs to do and whether her argument will hold or not. $4000 is a lot of money to lose no question, but she could possibly file a counter-suit for the lawyer's fees, and worst case it wouldn't be granted (but if it is at least she gets that money back).
The other thing is that you have to remember (just in case you haven't thought about this already) that this board and its members are in no way qualified to give legal advice (at least I'm not, but kudos to anyone who is). So be wary of taking legal action on advice that you received from here. I'm not saying that none of the above is good advice, but don't use it as a starting point for your argument.
