I've been thinking of modding my PS2 but I don't like the fact that you have to swap discs. Wondering if anyone can tell me...
How much did you pay?
Do you need to swap?
Where did you do it?
Is there anything you don't like about it?

 

there is another mod chip where you don't have to swap discs. You just put the burnt game in and play. But that one is a bit more expensive. I think around $250. You can get it done at Pac Mall.

i like just got my PS2 modded with the APPLE2 chip
you do not need any gay game shark
its a sweet mod chip
it will let me play burned internet games like socom (i was told)

i got mine modded for 180 with 4 cd games
its depends on when you got your PS2
if its the one that came with the GT3 its 180 something about the versions i dunno really lol
but the new ones i think are like 160 with 4 cd games
he has the Apple2 and the latest Messiah what ever number that is

The Magic 3 is an awesome chip aswell...no swaps, plays CD-R DVD-R. I got mine for $150 with 3 games from Pac Mall.

I've had the chip in since early december and have had no problems with it....only thing I need now is a DVD burner

cool. Gonna pick one up on the weekend. how much are the games alone? can you still play DVD movies and retail games?

 

My buddy has a DVD burner....Future Shop, $200 rebate off reg price. Not bad. It works pretty good, but could be better. I say wait for a more advanced version. And the software that comes with it sucks ***. Nice toy if you have money to blow though.

 

I'd say pac mall there's a place there where my buddy got the ps2 and had it modded and got some burned games for 600 he was so happy he went back and bought 3 more (as christmas gifts). and a dvd burner is a great Idea I could have bought one from a friend for 100 bucks but I could only use a certain type of dvd ram disks but I didn';t want to be limited.
