ill make it fast ...

so i had a 160GB HDD that had windows installed on it but also had about 100GB of data i want to use .. i put it in my PC as a "Slave" drive but now its only showing as a 31GB drive and its askin if i want to format .. hells no i dont wanna format ..

i just wanna have it as an active drive so i can use it ...

this might be due to the fact that there was windows on that drive .. but i wanna get around that ...


is there anyway i can make this drive a proper "slave" and use able to its full 160gb capacity ...

if your motherboard is from the 80s, it likely cannot read more than 30Gb on a HDD.

I hope you have at least a P4 or the equivalent?

Or you might have partition it to 31GB previously?

wrong and wrong ... the 31gb limit was based on jumper settings .. i got it to detect the full 160 gb but its in 2 partitions .. im just gonna throw it in a external case and try her that way ..
