R1 coilovers, anyone heard of them?
I saw them online at a few places for pretty cheap. are they decent quality? if I used them I would use it to lower my car about 1.8", about the same if i Went with h&r springs.

If you don't lower it more than 2" (or less), and your struts are still in good shape, it should be fine.
I have only heard bad complaints about them, from people that have droped their cars lower that 2"......coincidence?
I have also noticed that they also had bad/blown struts when they complained about the ride.
1sicsol, did you try the coilovers with the koni yellow's?
I bet you didn't.
A guy at my work has his Civic lowered 2", koni yellow's, and and I find that the ride is
It's the struts that keep it from bouncing, not the coils.
When you see a car going bouncy-bouncy on the road after it goes over a bump, that means the shocks/struts are gone/blown.
Even factory springs will bounce too if the shocks/struts are gone.
Don't assume it's the coilover's fault. My 2C's....:working:

R1's are very good for the price you pay for them. My friend has them in his car and it rides like he still had his stock springs in his car. His is also the 2nd generation R1's that have an extra tensiner spring or osme ****. So if you get the 2nd gens you'll be happy with them. Im grabbing a set this week for my car and I think i'll be happy with them. Also as pulover said if you drop it more than 2" then your just asking for a bouncy ride especially a 2" drop on stock struts
