Rant about stupid people

Has anyone had someone come and knock on their door and complain that they drive X car too fast on Y street?

One guy who lives 2 blocks away came by last summer and complained that I was driving way too fast in my Talon down his street. The street is a 40km zone, and I know not to speed. Maybe he heard my bov release from when I let off the gas down on the other end of the corner, who knows, but he came and bitched to my parents. They in return bitched at me for speeding, when in fact I did not. ****, I have yet in my life to get a ticket for speeding!

Anyways, this joker came back 1 year later, which was last saturday. I was just getting home from a soccer game, and was soo tired. He came by and said that he'll throw a brick through my Blue Civic's window. I still had adreline from soccer, but quickly calmed myself down. I didn't feel that violence would have solved anything here. I asked him twice if he was threatening me by saying that, and he didn't really respond. He said he has kids who play outside, yada yada yada.

Like c'ome on. Your kids play in the middle of the road. What kind of parent are you to not supervise them. I didn't even persue that with him, because he wasn't proposing a logical arguement. He then said his neighbour was in the Hell's Angels or some ****, saying that he'll bring his friends over... he didnt scare me. Plus we live in a really really good neighbourhood, so I doubt that. I wasn't speeding. If I was speeding, I would see this coming, but I was not. My arguement to him was, "do you have a radar gun? Just because my engine is loud on de-celleration, doesn't mean I'm speeding."

Then he ranted on about how he got a ticket on his street for doing 5 over the limit. I laughed and said, too bad for you.

It just pisses me off how people have nothing better do to with they're time. Like I know lots of people in my neighbourhood, and NO-ONE has ever commented on anything about me speeding or racing my car(s).

If he ever comes back I'm just going to call the cops and say he's harrassing me.

Does anyone else have any recomendations?

Tell his kids to go play in traffic

Would it not be smarter of him to teach his kids to watch for cars, as opposed to trying to track down every person that speeds down his street Dumbass... Tell him... you are tresspassing on my property *******... I don't want you here ever again or I'll call the cops

Go knock on his door, and tell him that when his kids are playing, they're screaming too loud, and that your neighbour is in the mafia

I've had a person tell my parents that I was driving too fast on my street, and another telling them I was cornering too fast (but that was my tires fault, they were almost bald so they chirped like mad when I turned).

As for your situation, stupid kids shouldnt be running around on the street, the grass is where they belong. That guy's an idiot.

No need to wait, call cops immediately base on what he said.

"he'll throw a brick through my Blue Civic's window"

That's enough of a threat to me.

I've had this problem before as well, where idiots in the neighborhood seem to equate noise with speed. My old 92 Civic had a 5-Zigen exhaust and was not overly loud, but still louder than stock. It seems a few people in the neighborhood felt that since the car was making noise louder than stock I must be speeding even though I never broke the 50 km/h speed limit. I also remember the old guy across the street that complained to the city about my "loud stereo" system, even though I never played it loud near my house. As it turns he did the same to all of the young guys that lived on the street, even though a few of them didn't even have stereos in their cars We all got letters from the city of Scarborough. I guess some people just have nothing better to do.

See, I just don't want to provoke this any further. I'm not 100% on which is his house. Like I saw the black SUV he came in, looked like an explorer, but I'm not 100% sure at which house is his. I'm going to keep an eye out and see if I can spot it.

I don't think me going to his house and bitching at him would do any good either. But that whole brick thru my car's window comment is still bothering me. What do I do if I goto the police station? Yes officer, this guy came to my house and threatened me, he lives on X road... He complained that I was speeding...
"what kind of car do you drive,,, oh a Honda? Well kid **** off".

Thats the kind of treatment I'm expecting to get, and I even know a few cops. Actually, My gf's sister has a good friend whose a cop, I think I'll talk to her tonight, see if he can come down and I'll tell him what happened.

****, this guy is going to pay.

A police officer should help you out if you were true about not speeding and all.

Go for it.

Yes, they should. I have an uncle who was an officer, and now is a cop instructor, but too bad he's in London.

I had the same problem two years ago when I had my Integra. My exhaust is insanely loud with the AC running and I was coasting down my street at 3am after work. The next morning I was getting ready to go to a funeral so, I was dressed all in black..black shirt, black pants, black shoes, black driving gloves and a black suit jacket. As I am putting on my sunglasses, I heard someone knock at the door...I don't answer for a while and I can heard a man behind the door yelling and screaming about "what the hell are you doing driving at 3am at night waking me up for...blah blah blah..." I finally get to the door...open it...and this guy was like at least in his 50's and his bitching just stopped. He just stood there stareing at me...he didn't say a word just keep stareing with this "deer in headlights" look...after about 3 seconds, I yelled out, "what the **** do you want?"...he turned around and speed-walked himself back to his house, occassionally looking back at me I guess to see if I was following him...LOL...after that day, no one has bothered me since. LOL
