yup...

so we get the expiring contract, to hopefully sign bosh and james to long term deals... this may also give eric williams more playing time ... so we can trade his *** too.

FYI Raptor fans...don't sit next to AD's wife....

toronto needs a big man...not sure if antonio davis is their guy...rose was good, but toronto seems to be built around the perimeter style shooting game, so maybe this will get them out of that mode

i dont think it was a good trade too, Jalen is a good player and he's playing pretty well the past few games. I think the new GM is like Babcock, they both dont know ****!
why can't they just trade like 3 bench players, like the 2 williams and loren woods.. they'r all useless anyways hehehe
just my two cents..

don't really care who they trade...they're always crap. unless they started waking up and doing a good job winning then i would start caring!

Guys, this season is a write off. The reason and the ONLY reason they make this trade is because of Antonio's expiring contract. Once it is done, they have more flexibility to get someone else. It has nothing to do with Jalen being a good player or not, just that his contract is to large for them and their salary cap. Plain and simple.

Whoa, that's OK if its true. Cause they haven't had a proven centre since he left, and with his contract expiring it will free up cap room. That's not to say he's really amazing or anything, because he's a bit short for centre and he is quite old now. I don't see them resigning him but if they did then it would still leave cap room cause I don't think he would get a huge contract at this point in his career.
What pick did they trade? The one from New Jersey? Cause this year's pick is too valuable considering how they have been playing.

i love this trade, its a wise business decision
jalen is gonna make $16.9 million usd next yr... as said before, this is about contracts, and jalen is way overpaid. hes played well in the last few games but in the past few months hes averaged less then 10pts/game. im glad to see him go

the toronto star said that he is supposed to meet with embry and mitchelle today to decide if he is going to play....they think he will, due to the fact taht he is owed 7 million on the contract and wont be compensated if he walks out.....no zo buy out here people

either way....raps win
1) free up salary
2) if AD chooses to play....we have a decent backup for Bosh.

AD wasn't that bad when he played for the raptors. I just dont see why they had to give them a 1st round pick as well.

What he said ^^. Big salary cap dump. Good deal, except the draft pick. Im soo confused on that one.

It would have been great if it was Rose for Davis period. Not Rose + draft pick for Davis.

STUPID way to lose a draft pick.

Haha, and this is with Wayne Embry. Babcock could have made this similar trade happen.
