? regarding router and hub
Right now I have a 4 port router with all ports being used and I want to add another computer. Can I buy a 2 port hub and have it connected to the router, therefore making a total of 5 ports?

I have 3 cables on my router int he basement, and i have 2 comps on my hub in my room, and I have 4 on my hub.
Theres actually 5 spaces + uplink but I think when I use uplink port 5 becomes un available?

just go wireless and u can hook up to 250 computers via wireless ethernet adapters, if u wanna go cheap o just connect the 2 computers via ethernet cards (15 each) and a cat 5 cable if u do this u will have to set the client computer to dynamic host configuration protocol(dhcp) to acccept an ip address from the host computer(the one conected to your router) and the host computer must be on for the other one to work, or u can connect a 4 port hub to the router and you will have all the file sharing and internet capabilites u want even if the computer connected directly to the router is off. just remember to clone your mac address to the router so your isp wont find out your sharing internet, all the other computers connected to your local area network will use the default gateway address and will be assigned a class c address probably 192.168.x.x via the dhcp server. mmmmkay
