IT related question, Bruce Fee?

I'm at work right now, and i'm wondering if there's some way i can get caught if i install messenger? I already tried installing some other programs (shockwave, etc, so i can play games) so i know i have the ability to install programs. i'm just wondering as i'm on a network if they can see what i'm doing etc (aside from taking control of the workstation like they do to fix stuff) ?

i'm really bored at times, and e-mail tag just doesn't do it for me haha

Ha ha. Am I the only computer nerd here?

If you're part of a network, assume EVERYTHING you do can be tracked.

Whether or not they care is a different story.

You can also use an online messenger, if you don't want to install something.

http://e-messenger.net/

there are a number of them.

Just do what I do. Make yourself not only useful, but indispensible. Then you can play all you want provided you maintain your worth.

Use web messenger at work. Its your best bet. And make sure you clear the history once you are finished browsing websites.

Question: Where I'm currently at they have a program called Bess that blocks MANNNNY websites..they have blocked toronto civics because of me and is considered a " free page". I was wondering if anyone knows about a large list of loop hole websites such as www.proxify.com that I could use?

thanks for the help Bruce Fee! i donno if ur the only computer nerd, but ur the only IT guy that i know of. I still get my work done so i'm not too worried about getting in trouble for slacking or whatever, but at times there's nothing to do, i can only browse TCC for so long cuz there's always dead times when noone posts for like 30 min, and flash/java games get old after a while.

Listen, in case you didn't get it.

IT owns your PC and can know everything you do.

IBM had that long @ss 3rd party audit, two guys I know had to get rid of msn for over 6 months. hahahaha

I use basic msn 7 w/ msn plus & the "boss feature", I usually have the boss thing on.. it hides all chats and changes the msn icon on the bottom right.

I'm IT at my job, so its all good.

yeah, if you have a keylogger installed.

at the financial institution, all my e-mails were kept and that's about it. I was in the one department which did not have phone calls monitored however. They used to run random checks on conversations.
