Rice V.S. "Clean'

In my humble opinion...
We certain have our beliefs of what a ricer is, but from a guy that drives a Mustang, pretty much any Japanese car with a 4-banger is a rice rocket. Or rice burner, whatever they want to call us.
Most people classify big wings, blue LED jizz squirters, big exhaust tips to be ricey items.... but that's because when the whole scene started, that's what some fast cars had on (well, I don't know about the LED jizz squirters).
Now the "fast" cars are going for the JDM-look, but hey, that's becoming a popular trend now and in my opinion, it's rice. Think about it. People are buying all these Japanese spec steering wheels, orange corner lamps, "spoon look a like" wheels, etc, solely to look like a "fast & SERIOUS street racer." In fact, I believe now they sell fake JDM accessories..............
The whole souping up car this is an entertainment. It was huge back in the 60's & 70's (yes, they had racing stripes and non-function hood scoops back then too), and it's just as huge now. Only with different cars.
"Rice" "Clean"... it's all just preference.
But what I COULD say is that "Rice" look is more popular towards younger audience.. something that is flashy, and grabbs attention. More "mature" audience, with acquired taste, goes for the cleaner look. I personally like the clean look myself, but I can't say which is better than the other, because it's just all an opinion.
To some guy out there, his purple Dodge Shadow with yellow racing stripes and three spokes rims look cool.
