Roadtrip to BC

Me and a buddy will be hitting the pavement to BC at the start of september. We'll have about 2 weeks total. Goin over through Canada and coming back through the states.

Any places we should make a point to stop at? Any advice?

thanks

i was just in Victoria BC looking at apartments, its great there. But i don't know if you want to pay the $70 ferry ride each way. what kind of places do you want to stop for? Natural features or tourist attractions.

yeah I've done a trip to Red Deer before.. this year I'll be hitting all 10 provinces...

I recommend taking your time when you get to the rockies.. enjoy the scenery..

ohhh and the longest part of your trip if your staying in canada will be trying to get out of Ontario. when you think your coming up to the end of the province you will still have many miles to go...

It's $70 a car, not a head for the fairy. I drove to B.C. last year with 2 of my boys for 3 weeks. Great time man, you will have a blast. I suggest preplanning most of your arrangements for sleeping. I camped alot, i enjoyed it, not sure if you are into it. Some nights plans got messed up, it would be pouring rain and we couldn't set up shop so we would just split a room for a night. Hit me if you want some more info.

pe@ce..

*edit* REDBULL is a must for a successfull trip, keep it in the cooler in the back seat if you have space for it. Especially for those flat as prairies. My boy had to switch his driving duty with me, he was on 4 Redbulls and we were cruising at 3AM. He said he had to stop because he was starting to see ****... specifically a female ghost coming straight for the car, lol.

Isn't that more of a warning to not bring redbull. Four cans of redbull can go down super fast. I think the key would be to take your time and not overextend your drives. Make sure you take a 10min break every couple hours, don't drive more the 6-10 hours without sleeping for a while.

On a side note i have heard white water rafting is a good experience on the kicking horse river in BC.

I didn't mean overdue it. I just meant that if you are feeling low on energy, you can slam one back and keep on ticking. He obviously had too many. Bring Redbull, use if needed.

definately make a pitstop in the unique town of banff that's surrounded by the rocky mountains. and a 30 min drive away on the way to BC is lake moraine, one of my favourite places to rent a canoe and go hiking. have a safe trip!

Thats actually looks like Lake Louise. If you are going to go all the way there, Definitely check out a place just about 15 minutes past Lake Louise call Canmore. On the main street there is this awsome little pub/bar/restaraunt that makes their own beer, and whiskey. They have something like 200 different types of whiskey and 50 different beers. Definitely a cool place to chill out for lunch and a beer and take in the visuals. Awsome scenery there.

Only other suggestion is to hit the Columbia Ice field parkway and head up to Jasper. It'll be a day trip, but you can stay overnight in Japser and head back down the north highway. Argueably the nicest stretch of road in the country. I have been all over the place, and I like it best.

In Vancover, check out Capilano Suspension bridge, its pretty cool... dont go to Hastings though.. its still bad news

1. Superior Lake Park, Northern Ontario,
"Petroglyphs, walking down between mile high cliffs covered in the original Graffiti of the natives in 150 B.C."

2. Dinosaur Park Alberta
(remember when dinosaurs were running across large green fields in Jurassic Park?..... well......)

3. Tofino on Victoria Island BC.
"as west coast as you can get, imagine that........lounging on the most beautiful beach as you watch sun sink into the pacific."

4. Glacier Park, Montana US
If you wanna see the best the americans can do with the Rockies, this is it. Heard it was beautiful

Google is your friend on this and you won't regret it.

Now you owe me pictures....
