oh i'm sure there's more but still not enough to force them to change...
it does suck that there are no options, but what can you do.. just like when anything makes it to the 'big time' the authenticity of the sport changes a bit to make it more suitable to the masses...
UFC's current format is more friendly to the average joe tuning in and watching a fight... which is what they are going for... the money that is hard to break into is the average joe segment of the population...

I'm not saying they will or even should change. They'll do whatever brings in the cash like you said. It just sucks for the rest of us who don't wanna see this kind of ****.
I'm starting to believe those people who were saying that the UFC was going to turn into the WWE and start fixing fights.

i'm glad Mir won, sure lenser was kicking the crap out of him the whole fight, but Mir's MMA experience led him to the win.
And about the no other options comment, go get yourself a Hi-Def receiver and a subscription to HDNet and you'll see there are a bunch of other federations that hold MMA fights. The only thing is, that THEY SUCK!!!!...especially compared to UFC. The fighters they have on "fire in the ring" (thats the name of one of the shows) are pure amature and are definately not fit to fight for the UFC. They stand there holding each other b/c they're way overweight and not in any sort of shape to be able to go 3 rounds of all out fighting.
I'm not saying UFC is the ultimate, but the quality of fighters on their tickets are a lot better than the shows i see on the HDNet channel.
Now for $40 a fight (on pay-per view) i'd say you get your moneys worth. But i also find the free fights are usually better. The last time it was free almost every fight ended with a knock out.
