Rogers Cable trick???

Had a letter/flyer on my front porch today from Rogers Cable (don't know if it was left there today or yesterday as I don't enter my house through that entrance).

Anyway it said that they were doing a "signal leakage audit" in my area and determined that the TV cable in my house is causing signal leakage in excess of Industry Canada guidelines. They want us to contact them ASAP to have them come in and investigate and correct the problem. If we don't contact them within 3 days, they will temporarily degrade the signal resulting in poor reception.

Do you call BS? I think they just want to come in and see how many TVs we have and then bust us and charge an extra outlet for each TV set.

What would you do?

I've never heard of it before, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have the right to inspect how many connections you are using....

Yup. We have the "ultimate" package.

We only have 2 major TVs we use, another cable is hooked up to my computer and one to a basement TV but that is never used because it's broken.

Signal levelage leakage is when the cables arn't hooked up properly or not terminated properly you get signal cancelation and bunch of other issues.

it does happen... but to be on the safe side don't call the number on the flyer ... get out the phone book and call customer service and ask them if they are aware of this.

the term is not Bunk and with the rising costs of energy and the amount of energy it takes to sholve that signal down the wires to you Rogers is probably looking for cost savings

^^ what he said can be casued my illegal splitters and junk connections to junk tv's

what they will do is put a "niose" filter in that will probobly stop yoru internet from working

they litterally drive around in a van all day to detect this stuff and fly over in planes in grids

it is infact radiation

do you have crap connectors cable hooked threw vcr's with push on connectors..?

if you live in a ghetto area you will have mad signal leakage you shoudl see the over head shots of the ghetto toronto areas

yes they will look for illegal outlets

All of my TVs are hooked up "correctly" with the standard cable and splitters/boosters. No push-ons.
