They should just give him back his country. He ruled with an iron fist (hence the war crimes), but at least he could keep them all under control.

A Puppet Regime maybe? Turn Iraq into another Dubai.

Think again..

Not everyone was treated fairly there. Take it from those who have actually lived/been there.

The small percentage of Catholics that live in Iraq (Assyrians, Chaldeans).. were raped, killed, tortured, just because they didn't want to convert to Islam for Saddam. Until this day they are spit on, sometimes beaten up and basically treated like dirt by Iraq's muslims. That's not called being treated fairly, that's called being treated like garbage because you chose not to follow the religion a devil (Saddam) wants you to.

Don't get me wrong, Bush is a huge ******* if you ask me

Interesting, cause my friend who is from Baghdad and still has family in Baghdad tells a different story.

First off, it's not hard to see that Saddam isn't really a Muslim. He pays lip service.

Secondly, all he really apparently cares for is his power, and has ensures people of other religions don't get treated that badly. IE Muslims not giving the aids sent out to the people to non muslims during the first gulf was until Saddam announced that the aid must go to everyone.

This second war, without Saddam, it didn't happen.

Most intelligent people are not very religious, and I think Saddam is pretty smart for all his accomplishments.

This whole trial thing was a joke to begin with. What, they're going to find him not guilty?

of course he's guilty, look at all the weapons of mass destruction he had!

You said something that is believed by alot of political circles...not just in the US but around the world...specially the key stakeholder middle eastern countries.

He can definitely bring them under control....the US cant do ****

I highly doubt there are many Catholics left in Baghdad. Their community rests in the North of Iraq, where alot of the Kurds are. Is your friend in Baghdad Catholic? If you talk to any Assyrian/Catholic Iraqi, this may sound bad, but they have a VERY BIG hate towards the Muslim community, they've done many things to the Catholics that you wouldn't believe, which may justify their hatred. I mean if a bunch of Catholics came into a Muslim part of Iraq and started raping, killing, torturing them just because they are Muslim, the Muslims would hate Catholics as well, no? Trust me, my g/f just recently came back from Iraq, she was there for 2 months, and the stories are endless. No rapings, killings go on now a days, but when they went out, there were occasions where they were spit on, kicked, pushed etc. Life is alot better out there for the Catholic's that occupy the country now, than it was when that Devil was in power.

saddam is not a saint. hes not hitler either. BUT he did commit crimes that should not go unpunished, regardless of who tried to kill him. i dont believe in capital punishment but i do believe that if u commit a crime and it is proven u should be tried and dealt with in a responsible manner.

u cant just let him go free cuz it would completely go against the whole "we got him/ mission accomplished" thing that the american ppl got sucked into.

he has to be punished somehow in order to maintain the "credibility" of the american occupation in Iraq.

of course he's not hitler. hitler was a socialist who was electred into power and loved by his people.

i assumed they would kill him from the beginning. the trial is just to rub in his loss of power. but he still stands up "take that hammer and hit it on your head."

i don't think killing your enemies when you're a dictator is a crime.

What saddam did is no more of a crime than what George Bush did. Let's not forget the checks and balances George ignored, as well as pissing in the face of the UN.

For some reason Bush will not be tried for his crimes I do not believe.
