it's not islam hate. it's extremist hate.

an extreme in itself, but whatever, it's casual.

so it's okay to kill people on your holy land? what if the jews declare israel as their mecca and give palestinians 3 hours to get out or be executed?
the holy land, is the actualy shrine inside of mecca, or w/e its called in english, that is like a church to catholics, let me explain it better, the people are given 3 options, leave, ask for asaylum, or die, what does the average texan do to someone who invades his home? they usually don't get options 1 and 2, straight to 3,

btw, jews did declare isreal their holy land, if you havn't been paying attention to the last few years of the slaughter that goes on there.

and your comparison is not even valid, as somoene is claiming their holy land where someone lives in your example and tries to kick them out

what I said was that people who came to the temple in mecca, who were not muslim, not people who lived there and got kicked out.

btw what do you call the Crusades then? ^^

Iran's ex-president denies touching women

TEHRAN -- Iran's former reformist president Mohammad Khatami Thursday vehemently denied breaking Islamic rules by shaking hands with women on a trip to Italy, amid growing condemnation from conservatives.

Khatami's old hardline foes have expressed outrage over video footage circulating on the Internet, which apparently shows the former president shaking hands with several women.

"Khatami officially denied that he had shook hands with any woman and the film circulating is not based on reality," said a statement from his office reported by the ISNA news agency and Ham Mihan newspaper.

"This film circulating on some conservative Web sites which shows him shaking hand with some Italian women is a version that has been edited and Khatami wholly denies this."

According to Islam's Sharia law, it is forbidden for a man to have any physical contact with a woman to whom he is not related. Whether at home or on trips abroad, Iran's officials studiously avoid handshakes with females.

seriously, you want to defend this?

The problem with "islamophobia" is that there are a bunch of bad seeds who are saying things and doing things that are not sanctioned by the quran. Now, I am not muslim and I do not pretend to know anything about the religion (I really know nothing), but the fact that there are a lot of people who are committing acts of terror/violence in the name of Islam paints a nasty picture of Muslims. These people obviously do not represent the ideals of Islam, but since they commit what they do in the name of allah, society is quick to judge and generalize.

For the record, I'm not defending any religion or standing for anything related to religion. I'm just stating a viewpoint.

^ that viewpoint is the same type of stereotype that is causing us problems because everyone with an even slightly modified car is now considered a street racer.

so why don't muslims do something about these groups that tarnish their name instead of ignoring it?

a member of GOVERNMENT of pakistan was quoted saying that.

saudi arabia STILL teaches that non-muslims are garbage in their elementary schoold.

i'm not attacking the quo'ran, allah, or mohammed, i'm attacking the people who interpret or stand up for sexist, violent, and oppressive ideals.

no one has said salman rushdie should not be killed, only comments defend islam.

look at christians.. george bush is a piece of ****.. but people are going around saying so and no one is calling them 'christianophobe'

You are a moron. I never said that is the way it should be. I said that is the way it is. Maybe you should read it before you get all outraged and compare it to ricers being targetted.

after a while it becomes annoying, you can't change everyone, and there will always be radicals and extremists in every group, people don't attack christianity when they attack Bush, the media plays a big role in how people react people attack bush, and the US gov, not Christianity, where as the media spins it that Islam is responsible for peoples actions, etc

so at this point, someone with some common sense would think, whos worse
the sheppard, or the sheep

yea the fact of the matter is most people are ignorant to the fact that these extremists don't represent the views of the muslim people.
the media actually portrays a lot of 'facts' that are just opinions of the editors/writers/etc..

bottom line 1, not all muslims are gonna blow your *** up so don't treat them like that.

-or- if you choose to remain ignorant.. bottom line 2, all muslims get offended easily and have many taliban contacts so if u dont wanna get blown up, shut the f*ck up.

You tried to imply that I also think the way a lot of the ignorant people act. Pay attention to undertones that come off what you write.

Angry Gremlin? Wow...

You didn't say that was your viewpoint you said it was a viewpoint. All I did was basically say there a few bad seeds that are giving tuners a bad name. I never once took a shot at your was I trying to!
If you stated that was YOUR viewpoint I wouldn't have posted it. Its just a misunderstanding on both of our parts.

bottom line 3

i live in north american and have the right, which means not the privalege or luxury, but the ability to say what I want.

Anyone threatening me for this, must be arrested and dealt with by the police, RCMP, and military whom my tax money goes to, to protect my rights.

anyone who finds the rights given to all Canadians as something offensive or something Canadians shouldn't have, should leave this country and go to one with more compatible morals and values.

---

You are making very big ignorant generalizations.

I'd like to say I have some muslims friends, but all of them who do have sex before marriage, and get drunk. Straying from pork doesn't make someone a follower.

Most people are poseurs to religion out of respect to their culture and family tradition.

I wasn't one to throw rocks at Sikh's for bombing the world trade centre. Vent your ignorance on someone else.

Im not venting on you, nor am I saying that you can't voice your opinion. I just things its stupid when people voice their opinion in ignorance. And theres a whole lot of this going on with the muslims.
I'm not muslim, and even I find some of the stuff said about them rather offensive simply because its so stupid and judgmental. And I make a hell of a lot of muslim jokes about terrorists and stuff and none of my muslim friends get offended.
