I had xm for a few months, it was alright...they had one good punk station not sure about the metal station being anything special.
It was great for my trip down south....listening to Leafs games while cruising the Keys was cool.

but I ripped it all out and bought an Ipod instead...still have all the gear

I had a rental car thaht had OEM Sirrius sat radio. It was awesome. I didnt listen to a cd or my mp3 player for the whole week. I just hate the add-on aftermarket units. It doesn't matter where they are mounted, it just looks ugly and in most cases, you still control it without your cars headunit. If it was an option from the factroty, I would definately get it.

Pro- hundreds of good channels
Con- looks like a$$

i have serius and i love the trance stuff they have, they also have great comedy channels. really good for long drives lots of selectiong to keep you awake.

no hassle of burning CDs look for music online.

one prob with sat radio is that in the city you might have a hard time getting a clean freq, they do sell these devices that directly hook it up with the deck on a set freq and then you dont have to worry about finding clean feq.

i would probably have a wire connecting to the deck, not a FM tuner.

http://shop.xmradio.ca/index.cfm?ID=...ist&SubCatID=9

XM Direct

  • Enables Satellite-Ready radios and aftermarket head-units to receive XM's channels
  • Use your existing car stereo controls and display to select XM channels
  • Direct connection for true digital sound - the best sound quality in satellite radio
just a sat radio ready deck and this..

JP and I had the same unit's and he's right. Using the FM modulater isn't as good.

I stopped my subscription a few months ago. I had mine for almost 3 years. It was great at the time, but the novelty of it wore off with me and I rarely used it.

Like JP, I will probably get an IPOD or use an mp3 player instead.
