You realize than the census comes out the year after? IE: 2007 will come out almost at the end of the year?

yea and using hamiltons website as refrence doesnt count ... BECAUSE (and zypher get your Joonya Radar up for this one)

Scarborough's population as of the 2006 census is 607,876.

Hamilton's population as of the 2006 census 504,559

A Difference of 103,317

so mr. "i wanna point out unproven "pwns" " do the math and or reserach b4 u hop on bandwagons ...

so yes i would say that is a pretty significant difference

Discuss !

*Notice steveo compared "CITY" to "METRO" *

A study based on census data between 1996 and 2001 shows that Scarborough's growth rate was more than 6%, the highest growth in Toronto. Its population is second to North York, but if this trend continues it should be the most populated district in Toronto by 2010.

just a heads up for the haters out there

lol how many neighbourhoods do you know that had cameras installed in them due to the crime rates?? ... only one... 'vern baby~! lol

mind you in person malvern isn't scarey if your'e with someone but i can def see how someone lost, alone, and white would be scared for their lives driving there @ night... lol

Jane and Finch also has some cameras...

I never really been to Hamilton to much so I dont know, and Scarborough has its areas but I always kinda liked scarborough.

why not just check crime rates to see.. you can do it on a percent basis..

it's called Scarberia... so remote from toronto... everyone thinks it's soo far away..

I was born and raised here I work here too.. do I think scarbough is bad? hell no. it's getting dirty however ... when I was a kid (you know your old when you use that phrase) the streets were alot cleaner and better maintained... there were farmers fields in Scarborough (still is but few and far between) now it's all suburbia ... ohhh well .. and toronto council ignores Scarborough .. we seem to be missed when snow falls, we are missed when streets are cleaned up... but it's a good place with good people.

nice stats... but they are out of wack...

for example they are criminal code offences basically a total of people charged for a crime. I can give toronto better stats... just fire all the police and crown lawyers and then no one in toronto will be charged with a crime and the stats will be zero.

I wonder if Missisuaga's rate is because everyone is nice and gets along or because of the lack of enforcement ability.

you ppl have way too much time on your hands to be discussing it, yes there are differences to be seen when going from scarbs-markham-newmarket-richmind hill etc etc, but to say its bad is dumb, maybe ppl that are sheltered in say.. oakville? muight feel unsafe but thats about it

I thought this thread was about scarborough and if it was really that bad.. Not a comparison between scarborough and hamilton?

I grew up in scarborough/malvern (west Hill C.I/ Pearson C.I) .. It's not bad as long as you mind your own business.
