Out of the town of Haliburton take Hwy 121 North, quite scenic and twisty.
The main road (forget the name) running through the middle of Algonquin Park is very nice for checking the leaves. Just paved 2 years ago so it should still be in decent shape for "spirited" driving.

bike guys always know the fun roads....
fyi, they're twisties... but most of them as scenic as well...
my personal favorite for riding (within proximity of the GTA) is Forks of the Credit (Belfountain, near Orangeville), there is even an ice cream shop and also a small general store at the end, so it's really nice and it follows the curve of a river + lots of trees.... but the only thing keep your eyes out for bikes... lots of riders there....make sure you keep good distance away or let them pass, cause they'll go much faster than you there... there is also a hairpin turn (very fun on bike).... on the weekends apparently there are lots of police (to catch speeding riders), although I've never been during the weekends
now another favorite is Ridge Rd in Hamilton/Stoney Creek... the road follows the Niagara Escarpment and can get some incredible views of Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga and Toronto all together (at night there are so many lights in those cities)... and it's also fruit farm area (and vineyards) so it's very picturesque.....

LOL try using google's satellite maps?
it may not show current road conditions and such. . .
but it may give u some sort of clue of what the landscape is like....i think Keyhole or w/e also has some terrian overlay maps to show u if there's rises and drops. . and such. . .
that's what i would do....it will show curvy roads too

Take 400 north to Hwy 11.....when you get to Gravenhurst exit and follow 169 to a small town called Bala. Beautifull town with waterfalls and everything. Get a bite to eat in town...wonder around a bit...then head back to Gravenhurst and do the samething. Nice shops and stuff.
