Everyone is being paranoid about this whole "blackout" crapola !
Just because of a malfunction in Ohio or teh US, then we get all paranoid that we cannot handle teh demand for power in toronto.

Look at California, they have 30, million people there. We only have 3 million, now why cant we supply enough power to Toronto ?????? Think about it........

Just use the power, we have been fine up to now.

WE SHOULD NOT CUT BACK USING THE POWER WE HAVE.
WHAT DOES THE GOV'T WANT US TO DO....STOP LIVING ?

Gimme a break. The gov't should supply us with more power. !!

considering we don't have ALL the power plants up and running yet, and we came close to over loading the sytem today, your point doesn't make sense. If ALL the power plants were up and running, then it would.

The reason why all the power plants arent running is because of the stupid gov't rules + regulations and policies and whatnot....There has to be a reason why they are not running full force....... They havent been running for a long time.....The blackout wasnt because of teh powe plants not running, it was blamed on teh Ohio plant malfunction...

Blame it on the gov't ! If they didnt allow so many new people to live in Toronto, then we wouldnt need as much power ! There's too many people in this city, and it's not getting any better !
New incoming immigrants should be sent to another city besides toronto.

First, the reason some plants are running full force is because like pickering and darlington, they're old plants. Pickering isnt running 100% because of a huge crack in one of the generators, Darlington i have no clue.
And the blackout was partially due to the power plants not running. If we had the pickering and darlington station working full force we wouldnt need to borrow power from the station in new york/ohio. I mean obviously with the New York plant keeping up to power not only their state, but now part of our province, there was bound to be an overload of power. the gov't was just trying to keep everything moving so we wouldnt have had to cut back on power.
Also the gov't i believe is starting to limit the number of immigrants coming into Toronto. They arent just going straight to Toronto, a lot of ppl have moved out to places like Pickering and Ajax etc in the past years, and also diff provinces but Toronto is so advertised as being so diverse and so big with lots of oppertunities, it just so happens that people flock that city. Im sure if vancouver or edmonton was advertised like Toronto, they're be flocking there wouldnt they?

SGR doesn't encourage street racing. The article was misquoted and exaggerated. The editors of the Toronto Star will be spoken to regarding this.

Could an admin/mod please close this thread, as it is getting completely off topic and it will turn into a flaming thread.

Thanks!
